Japan’s best-selling games on the Switch eShop for the first half of 2024

Nintendo posted new data today that reveals the best-selling games on the Japanese Switch eShop for the first half of 2024. We have the top 30.
Suika Game became a hit earlier in the year, so it’s no surprise to see it take the top spot. The top ten actually contains a number of older releases, but we do see Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door at #7. Princess Peach Showtime and Endless Ocean Luminous also just managed to squeak in.

Nocturnal 2 announced for Switch

Sunnyside Games today announced Nocturnal 2, a direct sequel to the original game. Switch will be getting it in 2025.
Nocturnal 2 is a fast-paced, juggle-based 2D Metroidvania game. Players will explore the dark depths and towering heights of a forgotten island that consumed itself long ago.

Epyx Rogue about to launch on Switch

Pixel Games just shared the news that it’s putting Epyx Rogue on Switch, and it’s arriving imminently. The title is due out tomorrow, July 18,
Epyx Rogue brings back the classic game made by Michael Toy and Glenn Wichman in 1980. Imagine Software now made an updated version with display filters, achievements, leaderboards, and more.

Just Crow Things release date set for August, new trailer

Unbound Creations today shared a release date for Rain on Your Parade. The game, which has you playing as a mischievous crow, is due out on August 15, 2024.
Just Crow Things was announced closed to a year ago as the next game from the developer behind Rain on Your Parade. 2024 was the initial launch plan, and the studio managed to reach that target.
Football Champ is this week’s Arcade Archives game on Switch

Hamster will release Football Champ as the latest Arcade Archives game on Switch, the company announced today. A worldwide release is planned for July 18, 2024.
A sports game released by Taito in 1990, the game can also be played against other players as well as against the CPU. In it, players choose one of eight different countries and compete against the other seven. Rough play is allowed, as long as you don’t get caught.

Wired Productions and KeokeN Interactive issued a new launch trailer for Deliver Us the Moon. After it was announced for the system years ago and initially cancelled, the Switch version just made it out.

Point-and-click adventure game Heir of the Dog confirmed for Switch

After achieving success on Kickstarter, Tall Story Games will be bringing Heir of the Dog to Switch.
The game reached its £15,000 goal in just two hours. There’s essentially a month to go before the campaign ends, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see it more than double the original target.
