Two more goodies are confirmed for Sonic Lost World pre-orders in the UK and Mexico.
Those who pre-order the game from ShopTo (UK) or Gameplanet (Mexico) will receive a pair of DLC codes. The first is a golden RC Omochao gadget while the other is a 5-pack of Black Bomb Wisp Color power which can be used to bomb away enemies. Pre-ordered copies of Sonic Lost World also come with the previously-revealed Deadly Six Edition content.
No word yet on whether the two new DLC items will be made available in the US.
Watch_Dogs visuals haven’t deteriorated, creative director says

Watch_Dogs made its impressive debut at Ubisoft’s E3 conference last year. Subsequent footage hasn’t been as well-received, particularly one video featuring Aisha Tyler.
Creative director Jonathan Morin claims that Watch_Dogs’ visuals haven’t deteriorated. “It’s pretty much the opposite,” he told VideoGamer.
Morin explained:
“There’s no scale down in quality, especially the next-gen versions. It’s pretty much the opposite. What we showed at E3 2012 in a lot of respects was less good. I think it’s in the details. So no, there’s no scale down.”
And what of the disappointing Aisha Tyler video? Morin put the blame on internal “communications issues”.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Limited Edition can be purchased once more on GameStop. When the product originally went up, its availability didn’t last long. I imagine it’ll be similar this time around as well.
You can order the Zelda: Wind Waker HD Limited Edition here. Along with the game, a special Ganondorf figure is included.
Yakuza 1 & 2 HD on Wii U “was an experiment”, sales not so hot

Releasing Yakuza 1 & 2 HD on Wii U “was an experiment”, according to series creator and Yakuza Studio head Toshihiro Nagoshi.
Nagoshi told EDGE that he was “interested in the Wii U format and curious about how many Wii U users would be interested in the Yakuza series”. This information could only be obtained by “releasing something.”
Nagoshi probably didn’t attain the results he was probably looking for. The game’s sales “weren’t great,” he said.
“The PlayStation format has a lot of users, so we knew that our audience is there. With the HD versions, we had already made the game once for PS2 and then in HD, so it was quite easy to port it to Wii U, whereas [porting] a whole new title is a bit tricky. I was interested in the Wii U format and curious about how many Wii U users would be interested in the Yakuza series, and the only way to find that out was to try releasing something. It was an experiment. But the sales weren’t great.”
Batman: Arkham Origins officially costs $50 on Wii U, not $60

Perhaps due to the game’s lack of multiplayer, Batman: Arkham Origins will be priced at $50 when it launches on Wii U next month. Other versions cost $60 and include online play.
Some retailers (well, notably GameStop) have the game listed for $60. However, Warner Bros. confirmed that the official MSRP on Wii U is indeed $50.
Amazon probably has the best deal for Origins at this point. You’ll receive a $10 credit along with Deathstroke DLC.

LucasArts cancelled a Star Wars project for Wii U
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 6 Comments
LucasArts canned a whole bunch of projects over the years – including one game planned for Wii U.
According to Kotaku, the company intended to release a few titles leading up to the reintroduction of Star Wars Battlefront. One of these games was given the tentative name “Version Two”. The site reports through a source that the project “grew from the remnants of a project code-named Wingman that was going to be a Wii U title modeled after the old TIE Fighter and X-Wing games.”
Kotaku has a bit of footage from Wingman, which can be found here.

Watch_Dogs Wii U visuals not current-gen or next-gen, but closer to current-gen
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 7 Comments
Not much has been said about the Wii U version of Watch_Dogs, but Eurogamer did manage to get a few words out of creative director Jonathan Morin as part of a recent interview.
Regarding Wii U, Morin spoke a bit about the game’s visuals. The game can’t be classified as current-gen or next-gen when it comes to graphics, but Morin did admit that they’re “maybe closer to current-gen”.
He said:
“I think it’s even going to be a bit better. If you pump the PC to its maximum there are things in the filtering and rendering that I think are possible on high-end PCs that are pretty amazing. Wii U is pretty much in-between – it’s neither of them, not current-gen, maybe closer to current-gen than next-gen.”
Nintendo acknowledges people are unaware of Wii U, big plans to educate UK consumers

Since the Wii U’s unveiling, there was confusion as to whether the hardware was a brand new console. That’s still a bit of a problem, and coupled with the fact that quite a number of consumers don’t actually know what the Wii U is, has convinced the company to begin a new campaign to educate parents as kids. As MCV points out, Nintendo’s main focus will now be to reach out to Wii owners.
Nintendo has secured in-store space as UK retailer Tesco. The company intends to produce and release a five page leaflet to 300,000 Tesco customers that bought a Wii, but have yet to purchase an additional console. Vouchers offering money-off games may also be given away.
As far as advertising is concerned, Nintendo will display commercials for its big franchises, including Donkey Kong and Zelda. Ads will run “continuously from half-term to Christmas”, according to Nintendo.
On top of this, consumers can expect national press advertorials, significant online activity, and a huge out-of-home promotional tour targeted at 115,500 shoppers.
Nintendo tells MCV that both its Wii U and 3DS marketing budget is “significantly higher” than last year.
UK marketing director Shelly Pearce told MCV:
