Wii U

A new discovery strongly suggests that Call of Duty: Black Ops II is in the works for Wii U.

Randall Herman is currently occupied with the Treyarch new shooter as a QA tester. Interestingly, his LinkedIn profile clearly mentions the Wii U as one of the platforms he’s working with.

Below is the noteworthy blurb in full:

“QA tester for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Duties include QA testing on PS3 and Wii U, multiplayer testing while collaborating with team, ad hoc testing, and regression. Bug writing, research, and documentation are performed with each issue that is found.”

There have been a number of hints that Call of Duty: Black Ops II is in development for Wii U, but Activision still hasn’t announced anything officially. This is one of the strongest pieces of evidence we’ve seen yet indicating that the title will be released on the new console.

SiNG, a casual Wii U title announced at E3, appears to be getting a small name change. Nintendo registered a new US trademark for “Sing Party” on August 10. It’s not a huge update, but we’ll take any Wii U news we can get.

GameStop has started to display Wii U marketing in stores across the United States. The same can now be said of EB Games in Australia. Take a look at a few images from the retailer’s Wii U promo content above.

Gamescom 2012 was a decent-sized meal for Wii U fans. We received some new assets from games such as Rayman Legends, but, as expected, third-parties didn’t make any new title announcements.

However, Official Nintendo Magazine editor-in-chief Chandra Nair told Nintendo fans on Twitter a couple of days ago that there is “good stuff” on the way. Given the fact that Nair referenced Ubisoft, it seems that his tease applies to the Wii U rather than the 3DS.

He wrote:

“Keep the faith nintendo fans. You won’t see much at gamescom other than ubi updates but the good stuff IS just around the corner …frustrating for me too but there is stuff coming soon.”

Frozenbyte made a new Trine 2 announcement at Gamescom 2012 today. The game will be getting a new Goblin Menace expansion that offers six original levels, new skills, and general improvements and tweaks.

Goblin Menace will make its debut on Steam this fall. The expansion will also be included in Trine 2: Director’s Cut for the Wii U eShop.

Not much has changed regarding the possibility of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 for Wii U. Producer David Cox is still saying that it’s possible, but it’s “hard to make a case”.

Konami confirmed a PC version of Lords of Shadow 2 earlier today. Cox believes that this makes more sense compared to making the game for Wii U since the PC has a higher userbase.

“How many people have a Wii U? #zero How many people have a PC #lots – Never say never for Wii U but hard to make a case!”
