This is the second time in the span of a few days that a third-party publisher has suggested a November launch for Wii U.
We posted about SEGA’s indication last night, and now D3Publisher has followed up with a more specific date of its own. If the publisher is to be believed, the console will be available by November 23 in Europe as will the Rise of the Guardians title.
Take a look at the European game announcement below…

Pachter down on Wii U, believes Activision pushed for Pro controller
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii, Wii U | 0 comments
Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter has returned with more “positive” commentary about the Wii U.
Speaking at the Develop Conference in Brighton last week, Patcher expressed doubt in Nintendo’s new console. He also spoke about his belief that Activision persuaded Nintendo to make the Wii U Pro Controller so that “big games like Call Of Duty” could come to the system.
He said:
“(Wii U) isn’t going to work. I don’t get it. I think that essentially this is a solution in search of a problem. I mean, somebody had an idea – ‘let’s make the controller a tablet’ – and there aren’t many games that are going to take advantage of that. Activision never said anything to me, but I know that [for] big games like Call Of Duty they said, ‘No, we’re not putting it on there if you don’t give us a conventional controller’. So they gave in.”
Patcher went on to discuss Nintendo’s approach to their hardware, thinking that innovative ideas will lead to success. In the case of Wii U (and opposed to the Wii), he feels that Nintendo isn’t “getting lucky”:
“(The Wii is) gimmicky. It worked, they got lucky, [but] I don’t think they’re getting lucky with Wii U. I don’t think they suck – I just think that they really believe that, ‘If we’re still novel, everything we do will work’. This isn’t going to work. Hardcore gamers will buy them; hardcore Nintendo fanboys will buy it. They could put out a piece of cardboard and say that it’ll play Mario and they’ll buy it.”

Rumor: SEGA confirms Wii U launch month
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 0 comments
If you were to ask gaming enthusiasts about the Wii U’s release date, most would probably tell you that the console will launch in November. SEGA may have just confirmed this on its own.
In a press release detailing Wreck-It Ralph’s inclusion in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, the company wrote that the game “will be available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo’s Wii U, and Windows PC Digital Download this November.”
So the question is, has SEGA confirmed a November release for Wii U? That’s just a rumor for now. After all, it may have been nothing more than an error on SEGA’s part.
While it’s widely expected that November is indeed the launch month, Nintendo has only said that the console is due out Holiday 2012. We’ll be getting concrete information in early fall.

Firebrand Games’ Octane tech will support Wii U
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 0 comments
You may know Firebrand Games as the studio behind Trackmania Wii/DS. The developer seems keen on supporting Wii U with its Octane technology, described by the company as something “that encompasses a full development pipeline and tool chain as well as a highly developed game engine.”
Firebrand says its Octane 5 tech is “coming shortly” to Nintendo’s new console. Once everything is worked out, maybe we’ll see a new Wii U game from the studio.
Thanks to Jake for the tip.
