For the most part, Nintendo has been absent from CES. That’ll be changing this year, however.

CNET has said that the Wii U will be available for hands-on time next month. I wouldn’t expect a whole lot of new details or game announcements, but we might be able to see more demo footage of “experiences” shown at E3 2011.

Dragon Quest X producer Yosuke Saito and director Jin Fujizawa shared a little bit of new Dragon Quest X information during an event at Jump Festa.

First, the two said that more jobs will be added to the game once the game launches. Dragon Quest X will initially feature six already-announced jobs. New jobs could include ones that wouldn’t be expected in the series.

Saito also commented on the differences between the Wii and Wii U versions. He said that you and a friend will be able to play together if you have two systems. Saito stated that “The Wii version is totally fun! The Wii U version is totally fun! And it’s also extremely beautiful.”

Finally, Saito hinted that that a beta test will kick off on Valentines Day (February 14) or White Day (March 14). Specifically, he said that it will take place around the “time period of chocolate.”

Shigeru Miyamoto has answered a bunch of questions in a new interview with Wired. One of the more interesting points from the discussion is that he expressed willingness to let Retro Studios collaborate with Nintendo on Zelda. He talks about Mario 3D Land, Skyward Sword, a little bit about Wii U, and a bunch of other topics.

All of Miyamoto’s comments can be found after the break.
