Wii U

Along with today’s screenshot, Sakurai passed along the following messages on Miiverse, including some new gameplay details:

Pic of the day. There are many changes being made to attack and defense options for grabbing edges. In this picture, Link is actually trumping Mario’s grab.

Some other changes include:

– Air time and accumulated damage will determine your period of invincibility while hanging on an edge.
– Grab controls will no longer be affected by whether you have above or below 100% damage.

A small update is out now on Wii U’s Netflix application.

Users will now see a big ‘+’ button, which allows for a show, series, or film to be added to their “My List” section. The button will change to a minus so that the item can be removed later. Additionally, it is now possible to jump to a list of all available programs even if you’ve watched it before.

Nothing too exciting, but it should improve Netflix’s overall experience on Wii U.

BBC senior product manager Peter Lasko has confirmed the company’s plans to bring its iPlayer app to Wii U.

Sadly, Lasko wasn’t able to provide any specific details. He was only able to say that iPlayer will head to Wii U sometime “in the future”.

Lasko’s statement reads:

We follow a clear process so that we can get iPlayer onto devices in a scalable and maintainable way. We worked with Sony in this way for the PlayStation 4. We are working to bring BBC iPlayer to both Xbox One and Nintendo Wii U in the future, but we have no further details to share at this time. We have no immediate plans to bring BBC iPlayer to Apple TV or the PS Vita.
