New characters from Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars were supposed to be unveiled at TGS, but one of those characters has already been announced in this week’s Famitsu. Tekkaman Blade (D-Boy), a star of an old anime show, will be making an appearance in the game. Now you may be wondering, why would Famitsu make this type of reveal? Well, Ultimate All-Stars (the localized version of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for North America) will be heading to Japan and it’s confirmed to support online play. The title will be out this winter.

I was debating whether or not to post this, since it seems like this game won’t be heading to Wii. Nothing is confirmed yet, but Ken Ballough from SEGA stated in an interview that “You can definitely expect HD graphics.” I’m still hoping that this will head to the Wii, though I wouldn’t count on it at this point.

Thanks to jcr for the news tip!

When comparing Red Steel and its sequel, it’s quite clear that the second title has gone through a massive overhaul. This is, of course, partially a result of the technology behind Wii MotionPlus. But perhaps the series will see another evolution by the time the next game is ready for development. At PAX 2009, Red Steel 2 creative director Jason VandenBerghe made a few remarks about bringing Red Steel to other platforms. Although the decision will ultimately be up to Ubisoft, VandenBerghe seemed thrilled with the idea.

“I will be pushing to make that happen (placing Red Steel on other platforms).”

“I personally would love to see any and all consoles have more sword fighting experiences.”
