– Ubisoft discussing the lack of multiplayer: “We would love to create a multiplayer engine, but not right now. It’s single player because we want to really focus on the core mechanic and as much as we all want to kill each other with swords, it’s not going to happen this time.
– Ubisoft on releasing a multiplayer mode through DLC: “That would be cool. The world has changed, and we can do that sort of thing. I certainly think that would be cool. I’d buy it. But we need to be careful bringing out something that people think should be in the main game.”

Gamestop.com’s official listing for the upcoming Wii exclusive on-rails shooter, “Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles” places the pre-order shipping date for the game at February 23rd, 2010.

This comes as a surprise to me, because I was expecting a much sooner release than early 2010. If the information is truly accurate, then regardless of the fact that we will have a set date to look forward to, you can stamp me disappointed.

“The Conduit has been a labor of love, but it’s been a long journey. We faced our fair share of opposition from publishers and non-Nintendo-centric media about the viability of core gamer games on the Wii…The industry is watching to see how the Conduit does. Your hard earned dollars, now more than ever, will determine the types of games third-parties are willing to provide for your Wii.” – Eric Nofsinger, High Voltage Software

I am sure that quite a few third parties are watching to see how The Conduit performs in the market. If the game doesn’t reach expectations, third parties may very well reevaluate their support for the Wii.
