Wii

England, Stourbridge: July 10th, 2008 – Data Design Interactive – a successful video games publisher and games developer, today unveiled NuYu editor lets you put yourself in the game by creating customisable characters that fit your personality. You can then use those characters in compatible NuYu games and even save them to your Wii Remote to take to a friend’s house.

About NuYu

A NuYu (pronounced New-You) is a customisable player character editor exclusive for our Popcorn Arcade Wii range. NuYu’s are customisable and allow the user to capture a likeness, caricature or personality of themselves and others. After creating them, they can be used as participating characters in NuYu compatible games.

The NuYu Editor will be first featured in our soon to be released Kidz Sports – Crazy Mini Golf.

For months upon months now, rumors have circulated that Microsoft has their own Wii-esque controller in the works. By the time E3 blows by, we will most likely know for sure if such a product is in the works. Darwin is one controller than is extremely similar to the Wiimote and is being developed by Motus, although we do not know for sure if Microsoft has struck a deal with Motus as a first-party agreement, or if the controller will come as a third-party peripheral. It would make sense that Darwin is a third-party accessory considering Microsoft would never let something like this slip; Admittedly though, anything is possible. According to the company’s official website, Darwin is expected to release in less than a year.

Even though Defend your Castle is available for free on the PC, the game always manages to top the North American WiiWare charts. The improved graphics and general insanity of the game with a friend really makes the game both hilarious and fun game. Europe, however, still has not had Defend your Castle added to the WiiWare service. A rating from PEGI could change this in the near future though, as the game has finally been rated. Defend your Castle has been given a 7+ rating, so it’s probable that the game will be releasing in Europe shortly.

There’s also a pretty informative interview here.

Most companies have exposed their E3 lineups at this point, which is probably the best idea. E3 is in less than a week, after all. One such company that will be attending E3 is High Voltage Software; More importantly, it has been confirmed that their highly anticipated game, The Conduit, will be at E3. Those attending can expect a playable version of the game and new media and gameplay details will surely be discussed in the coming weeks.

Wii owners have will soon be receiving a lot of Star Wars action. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Star Wars: Clone Wars both look like promising titles. However, very soon, it’s more than possible that we can hear an announcement about yet another Star Wars game, Star Wars: Battlefront III. The basis behind this theory comes from an Amazon listing that was taken down soon after it was spotted. According to IGN, two different and perhaps reliable sources have confirmed that the game is real and is not only going to launch on Wii, but Star Wars: Battlefront III will come to the DS as well.
