Heart Machine’s 2D action RPG “Hyper Light Drifter” may make its way to Wii U.

The developer posted a new message on the game’s Kickstarter yesterday, and noted that its new game could hit Nintendo’s console if funds reach $500,000. A Wii U version would “be possible”, according to the developer.

The message in full states:

“We’ve had a lot of request for Wii U support. We hear you! It’s a platform that deserves some love, and we’re currently in talks with Nintendo directly on the subject. I think if we can reach the $500,000 goal it will be possible – though keep in mind that any new platform costs a fair amount of money and time to QA and port over/translate, with their own set of requirements, so it’s not as simple as one would hope. We’ll keep everyone updated as we continue to push for this gem of a platform.”

Hyper Light Drifter has raised a little over $325,000 on Kickstarter thus far. There are two weeks remaining, so hitting $500,000 may not be too far-fetched.

Mighty No. 9 has hit yet another stretch goal on Kickstarter. The game will now be receiving a “Beck & Call” online co-op challenge mode after raising $2.75 million.

Over a dozen missions will be included in the new mode, which allows gamers to play online with a friend. One player takes on the role of Beck while the other controls Call. All missions will be parts of remixed levels.

Japanese Wii U eShop games are tough to come by these days, but Kemco is readying a new one for release next week.

“Togabito no Senritsu” is a psycho suspense adventure game, dealing with loss and death associated with a murder title.

In this death game, several are trapped in prison, and they’ll need to work together to escape. Throughout the experience, characters give into their selfish nature and uncover the sins of their past. Belief and bonds in extreme conditions, hate and love, and the story of defeat and victory are just some of the elements players will encounter.

Did that get your attention? Those who own Japanese Wii U systems can purchase Togabito no Senritsu from the eShop on October 2 for 1,000 yen.

Conatus Creative previously expressed interest in bringing River City Ransom: Underground to the Wii U and 3DS. That interest has now translated into stretch goals on Kickstarter.

If River City Ransom: Underground manages to raise $320,000 CAD, the game will come to both eShops – Wii U and 3DS. It could be difficult to reach such a high amount with only 11 days remaining in the campaign, but it’s nonetheless encouraging to see both platforms included in the Kickstarter.

Polygon has shared a few new details about How to Survive. Here’s the latest information:

– Game has a “challenge” mode with 10 challenges to play
– Each challenge has you escaping a set of islands that have become infested with zombies
– Campaign mode is more about crafting, dismantling, upgrading, etc
– Challenge mode is more about the individual aspects of the single player, rather than all of them together

– One challenge called “Island of Fatties”
– Has players trying to get to an aircraft to escape the island
– This challenge focuses on explosive zombies
– You can outrun/hide from these slower zombies to avoid fights
– You can attack and risk injury from their explosives

– Another challenge called “Chainsaw Massacre”
– Player has a chainsaw as their main weapon
– Other weapons are scarce
– Challenge is to find a way to destroy various zombies without touching them or using the chainsaw

EnjoyUp has teased a new game for the Wii U eShop involving cars and platforms.

A tweet published on the company’s account earlier today reads:

Note that “Cars & Platforms” isn’t actually the name of the game. This is just a tentative label given to the project for now.

Uncade LLC’s David Byers – the studio’s one and only employee – is currently working on Another Castle for Wii U. But Byers has created other games as well, including “Haunted Hallway”, “Blast Ball”, and “Love Me Not” for PC. Could we also see some of these on Wii U?

Byers admitted to Dromble that he’s “thought about it”, but has yet to make any decisions. If these older games were to see a Wii U release though, they’d probably “be more of a remake as opposed to a port.”

According to Bryers:

“I’ve thought about it, but to be honest I’m not sure yet. I feel like console games should be larger experiences than those games offer right now, so if I ever make them for the Wii U it would be more of a remake as opposed to a port. This would take a fair amount of work, and right now my top priority is working on Another Castle.”
