Wii U eShop

Soul Saga will be making its way to Wii U following funding collected through Kickstarter. The game was guaranteed to be made for the console (as well as the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita) once the goal of $80,000 was reached. That happened just a short while ago, so expect to see Soul Saga on Nintendo’s console sometime in the future.

Update: Notion has now clarified that Super Ubie Land is coming to Wii U this fall. The August 13 date is for PC.

Super Ubie Land is coming to the Wii U eShop in August. A specific date of August 13 is mentioned in a promo poster shared on Notion Games’ official Twitter account:

Zordix just released Aqua Moto Racing 3D on the eShop this week. A Wii U entry could be what’s next for the series.

Speaking with Gamers XTREME, Zordix CEO Matti Larsson expressed interest in producing Aqua Moto Racing “in a larger format”. Larsson imagines that a Wii U eShop entry would have features such as online tournaments and rankings.

“Wii U is a natural next step for us”, Larsson said.

“I can’t deny that it would be a dream to realize the Aqua Moto Racing game in a larger format. Possibly with online tournaments, ranking and all that goes with that. Wii U is a natural next step for us and if we decide to do it, I’ll make sure to share some information early on about development.”

Richard Perrin, the creator of Kairo, will probably be bringing his next game to Wii U.

Journal is a new adventure title that emphasizes character interaction, dialogue and narrative choices. You’ll be playing as a young girl who experiences childhood issues including lying to friends, cheating on tests, and more.

It sounds like Journal has a pretty good shot of hitting the eShop when it launches (hopefully) later this year.

Perrin said the following when asked if he intends to get the game up and running on Wii U:

Yeah, because Nintendo have been a lot more open with indies than they necessarily have historically, and I think that’s a great sign of this generation where even the big companies are looking more to indies, and so I met up with the Nintendo guys at PAX and GDC earlier this year, and now they’ve already sent me out a devkit and the equipment needed to take a game like this and get it onto their platform.

I’ve already managed to get rough bits and pieces working, and the hope is that this will eventually come out on Wii U later in the year. Obviously, Nintendo still have an approval process, so I can’t guarantee it, but I don’t see that there’d be any problems.

Disastercake’s Soul Saga is now fully funded on Kickstarter. 17 days remain, yet the $60,000 target has already been reached.

There’s still plenty of work to be done with the campaign. Soul Saga has numerous stretch goals on the horizon. If the Kickstarter hits $80,000, the game will officially head to Wii U, PlayStation 4, and PS Vita.

Thanks to Ken P for the tip.

Armikrog received full funding on Kickstarter late last night. And just a few moments ago, the game hit its Wii U stretch goal.

The race towards Armikrog’s Wii U version truly came down to the wire. The $950,000 target was reached with less than two hours remaining in the campaign.

Congratulations to Pencil Test Studios for its success!
