Ubisoft open to Watch_Dogs/Assassin’s Creed alternating each year

Depending on the reaction to Watch_Dogs, Ubisoft’s new IP “could” alternate with Assassin’s Creed on a yearly basis.
VideoGamer asked creative director Jonathan Morin about the chances of the two franchises switching off each year. Morin was a bit hesitant to say anything either way, but left the door open to the possibility.
He said:
“Could be. I don’t know. Right now I’m focussing on Watch Dogs The Game, and we’ll see when it comes out and people can scream their reaction and afterwards we’ll see what happens. There’s no point in being hasty about those things afterwards. Let’s just wait and see and not be cocky about it.”
Assassin’s Creed IV Wii U visuals in between current/next-gen, compatible with companion app

Assassin’s Creed producer Martin Schelling and lead game designer Jean-Sebastien Decant have spoke a little about the Wii U visuals found in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
The two told ExpansiveDLC that the game is somewhere between current-gen and next-gen versions. It’s also been confirmed that the game’s companion app will be compatible with the Wii U release.
“It will be I think, in between the current gen and next gen consoles. We could have had some of the tools from the companion on the second screen, but because the companion app will be available with Wii U too we didn’t include them.”

Ubisoft has worked on improving Assassin’s Creed IV’s performance on Wii U

Assassin’s Creed III suffered from some performance issues on all consoles, including Wii U.
In the Wii U version, one issue that was particularly apparent concerns framerate slowdown during crowded battle scenes.
Such problems have been addressed for the next entry in the series, according to Ubisoft Quebec’s Robin Lavallée.
Lavallée told Nintendo Life of the performance in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag:
I’m happy you are asking the question, the team worked really hard during the last month to increase the performances on the Wii U version… and one of those points was the crowded battle scenes. So the quick answer is, yes we have worked to improve this on Black Flag.
…The Wii U architecture poses some technical challenges that we’ve been able to thankfully overcome. It hasn’t been easy, but we’re really proud of the final result on this console.
