Nintendo sold 118,000 Wii U units in France last year

According to a report from LSA, the Wii U sold 118,000 units in France last year. How does that stack up to the Wii? In 2006, the old system moved 180,000 units over the same period. Both systems launched very late in their respective release years, so the data accounts for about a month of sales.
Unsurprisingly, most of the Wii U’s sales came from the Premium Pack – 75% of consumers picked up the bundle. Another 15% purchased the ZombiU Premium Pack, followed by the Basic Pack at 10%.
Other 2012 sales figures from LSA worth mentioning:
3DS – roughly 950,000 units
PS3 – 700,000 units
Wii – 372,000 units
360 – 360,000 units

Sony settles with Jerry Lambert, still after Bridgestone
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News, Wii | 0 comments
A strange situation developed late last year between Sony and the well-known PlayStation “character” Kevin Butler. Butler, played by Jerry Lambert, was spotted in a Bridgestone Tires commercial with a Wii. The ad was eventually pulled and it was later discovered that Sony was suing the tire company as well as Lambert’s own company.
Sony is still in a legal battle with Bridgestone, but has since settled out of court with Lambert.
Lambert will not appear in any video game ad over the next two years. Once the period has passed, he can lend his talent to any commercial he chooses so long as the Kevin Butler character is not portrayed. Sony also gained the right to look over any video game-related ads Lambert partakes in to ensure that its Kevin Butler property is not involved.
Regarding the original Bridgestone commercial, Lambert did acknowledge that the ad may have led to consumer confusion since he was seen with a Wii.

Pandora’s Tower is coming to North America

It’s official: the Wii RPG trifecta is complete in the states. XSEED has just announced Pandora’s Tower localization for North America.
Pandora’s Tower will arrive in the states this spring. XSEED reached an agreement with Nintendo for publishing rights, just as it did for The Last Story.
Wii (and Wii U) owners will now have access to the console’s last three major RPGs from Nintendo. Xenoblade arrived last year, and The Last Story followed a few months after. Pandora’s Tower was the final title waiting to be localized.
Head past the break for the official announcement.
