The game is definitely a looker, and the gameplay looks fantastic. I’m still amazed that Shin’en is able to pull off such an effort on WiiWare.

Our lucky European friends will be able to download this title now. It’ll also be released in North America this coming Monday.

Will this be another game that isn’t localized for North America? Let’s hope not…

Finally, a confirmation of a Wii version. Not sure why people were thinking this wasn’t heading to the console…

SUIT UP, POWER UP AND TEAM UP IN A MULTIPLAYER ACTION-ADVENTURE GAME FEATURING A UNIVERSE OF
BELOVED CHARACTERS IN DISNEY UNIVERSE

Players Will Enter a Mix-Up of Disney and Disney•Pixar Inspired Worlds This Fall

BURBANK, Calif — (May 26, 2011) – Disney Interactive Studios announced today that Disney Universe, a fast-paced multiplayer action adventure game, is currently in development for PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Wii™ and Windows PC/MAC. In Disney Universe, players will experience non-stop action through a mix-up of worlds inspired by both animated and live action films from Disney, including titles from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures. Players will suit-up as iconic Disney and Disney•Pixar characters and embark on adventures to power up their hero, battle powerful adversaries and master challenging puzzles to save the universe. Disney Universe is slated for release in fall 2011.

“Disney Universe is a vast treasure chest of Disney properties with memorable characters, places and experiences that gamers, as well as Disney fans will enjoy,” said Adam Sussman, senior vice president of publishing, Disney Interactive Media Group. “The fast-paced, frenetic gameplay combined with wacky humor and hilarious situations make Disney Universe the perfect game to play with family and friends.”

I’m going to assume that this game is coming to Wii. Some sites are saying that the game is PS3/360/PC only, whereas others claim it’s coming to Wii as well. The console’s logo appeared at the end of the trailer we posted earlier this week, so it sounds like it’ll be released for the system.
