Lobodestroyo will hit Wii U four months after Ouya release

Lobodestroyo is coming to Wii U, but Nintendo’s console won’t be a launch platform for the title.
Lefthanded Games explained in a Kickstarter backer-only update that the Wii U version will arrive after the Ouya exclusivity window expires. This is due to a stipulation in the “Ouya Free the Games Fund”.
For every $10,000 in funds Ouya matches, the platform gains one month of exclusivity. Lobodestroyo has collected roughly $40,000, meaning four months of exclusivity is required.
Despite the wait, Lefthanded Games believes the wait will be worth it. The extra time will be used to properly port Lobodestroyo to Wii U “and take advantage of the new hardware.”

Wii U Version Clarification
As stated our launch platforms are Ouya, PC, Mac and Linux. The rewards we offer are associated with these systems only and do not include possible stretch goal consoles. Early in the campaign we shifted our Wii U goal total and then later absorbed it into our initial 35k goal. This essentially removed the additional funds we would ask backers to raise before we’d begin development on the Wii U. Due to the aforementioned rules in the Ouya Free The Games Fund, the Wii U version will not be available until a console exclusivity period has passed*. This time will allow Ouya gamers to enjoy the exclusive title while allowing the our team time to port Lobo over to the Nintendo console and take advantage of the new hardware. (this is a really good thing ultimately and will be well worth the wait)
Wii U is still not considered a true launch platform. However we are happy to officially announce that…we will allow backers to select Wii U as their console of choice for their rewards now!
We know a lot of you are here for the Wii U version and we want to make sure you get it! As such we are adding the option instead of requiring you to stick with a launch platform. Backers will be asked which platform they would like their rewards to be for in the closing survey that will be sent to you a few days after the campaign concludes.
Please note that backers selecting the Ouya, PC, Mac or Linux versions will receive their versions of Lobodestroyo BEFORE those who select Wii U. Again this is in compliance with the Ouya exclusivity agreement which you can read all aboutHERE. Also expect there to be a few changes between the versions which we will detail further down the development process.
*This period will vary but is determined as 1 month of exclusivity for every 10k in funds that Ouya matches. At this time Lobo is at $40,000 so the expected exclusivity period will be 4 months.
