Earlier today, Bandai Namco put out a press release for Lost Heroes 2 with a whole slew of details about the game. Gematsu weeded out the new information and has provided complete translations. You can find the full overview below.

Story Overview

Feeling impending danger, legendary heroes come upon Kaiser Belial gathering the Fragments of Regis in an attempt to revive Regis.Their efforts fail, though, with their powers sapped by Kaiser Belial and their lives in jeopardy. With nothing to get in the way of things, the power of the Fragements of Regis are unleashed, raining down darkness upon the world once more and bringing back the evil world of Cube as the forces of justice watch powerlessly. As the bastions of darkness intently pursue that power for its own ends, the Lost Heroes rise up and bring the fight to the enemy in the hopes of preventing Regis’ return before it’s too late.

Gameplay Flow

The gameplay in Lost Heroes 2 can be broken down into a general structure of several distinct components. Let’s take a brief look at these parts below:

Dungeons. Lost Heroes 2 is filled with vast labyrinths that players are tasked with exploring as they go on their journey to stop Regis’ revival. Traversal is done primarily on the top screen, although the bottom screen is reserved for a map that automatically fills itself in as players progress, indicating all of the areas that have been visited thus far in a given dungeon. Special points of interest are marked with distinct icons.

Battles. Naturally, when enemies are encountered, fights commence and are handled using a turn-based system, with players giving each party member their own commands in response to ongoing conditions.
Event scenes. Once dungeons are fully cleared, more of the plot is unveiled through dialog between characters and various dramatic developments.

Dynamic Dungeon Scenes. These are special event scenes that take place from time to time during the game. We’ll leave the specifics for another time, however.

Skill Tree development. Each playable character earns what are known as “AP” through battles, which can then be spent on unlocking skills as part of their own skill tree, enabling the Lost Heroes to regain their old powers one by one.
Playable Characters

We’re proud to announce the following iconic characters will be in Lost Heroes 2 as playable party members:

Ultraman Ginga
Ultraman Zero
Ultraman Tiga
Kamen Rider Wizard
Kamen Rider Black
Kamen Rider Black RX
Kamen Rider Fourze
Unicorn Gundam
00 Quanta Gundam
F91 Gundam
Combo Attacks

Lost Heroes 2 features the series’ most bombastic, exciting Combo Attacks yet, complemented by a host of new accompanying voice acted clips, to boot! Here are two that you can expect to see in the full game:

RX-0 Combination. Kamen Rider Black RX and Unicorn Gundam team up for an attack of truly astounding proportions, transcending anything they could do on their own in their native franchises!
GN Ultimate Zero Sword. Ultraman Zero and the 00 Quanta Gundam band together for their own super-powerful offensive strike! The characters’ voices are sure to be a treat here!
New Gameplay Systems

Lost Heroes 2 now has a mechanic known as “Hero Rush,” whereby players build up a Rush Gauge and then upon triggering it, are able to buff up their party for the duration of the turn, the extent of which depending on how full the Rush Gauge is built up. Be careful, though, as enemies have an “Enemy Rush” of their own that serves the same purpose for their side, meaning Hero Rush must be used tactically in order to come out on top. Should the party be able to endure an onslaught brought about by Enemy Rush, though, the Heroes are able use their unique “Brave Skills,” with the effects differing from character to character.

Additionally, some boss battles will be rendered in 3D, making them all the more dynamically harrowing! With 3D fights, though, come special attacks that are sure to hit extra hard, meaning players will have to fight tooth and nail to make it out alive!
