Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney

– Craig surprised about the game, thought it was a joke
– Professor Layton and Phoenix Wirhgt meet in a weird medieval city
– Trailer was impressive
– Involves people being accused of witch craft
– Maya is in the game
– Capcom and Level-5 teaming up
– Level-5 doing the development
– For the 3DS
– Seems like more of a point and click adventure style game

Kirby’s Epic Yarn

– Good Feel wanted to make an original IP
– Wasn’t coming out very well
– Nintendo stepped forward and suggested making it a Kirby game
– The title does adopt many of the Kirby mechanics, but in a different way
– Some people complaining that it should have been an original title

Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light

– It’s an enjoyable title
– Difficult game because the bosses are stronger than you tend to be when you face them
– Have to go back and level grind
– A lot of customization, figure out your party
– No tutorials, not sure where you’re going or what you’re doing at first
– Crown system in the game

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn

– Coming out at the end of November
– Craig hates random battles in most games, which Golden Sun features
– Focus on puzzles well-done
– Action-based puzzles (real-time)
– Traditional menu fighting with Zelda puzzle-solving
– A lot of effort put into the menu system, they’re very elegant
– Play as the offspring of the characters from the first game
– Certain words highlighted in the text (hyperlinked), encyclopedia can be brought up on the top screen of what the word is, if you’ve already read about it, then it will be grayed out

GoldenEye 007

– IGN has the final version of the final game
– Craig had a good time
– Runs “pretty okay”
– Many nods to the original game
– Everyone has been recast
– Name tie-in, not a movie-tie in this time around
– Unlock 007 Classic Mode after you finish the game

Mario tidbits

– Mario was supposed to have a gun
– Was supposed to jump with the up button, changed it to fireballs
– One level was going to be a shooting level, side-scrolling
– Turned out to be the cloud world
– Turtle 1-up technique was left in the game on purpose
– Didn’t build in the Minus World

Mario’s anniversary at Club Nintendo

– Screen save for 10 coins at Club Nintendo
– 4 patches can also be purchased with coins (450 coins each)

– Final Fantasy Mystic Quest out on the Virtual Console
