We’re just a few hours away from Nintendo’s E3 2012 media briefing, where Wii U will take center stage.
Interestingly, if a new Facebook page is any indication, the console may see a game from one of EA’s most popular franchises: Mass Effect.
The German Mass Effect page posted the following notice less than an hour ago:

“Don’t forget: Tune into the Nintendo press conference today at 6 pm…
http://e3.nintendo.com”
It’s worth mentioning that the same page made no mention of Sony or Microsoft’s conferences, so this wasn’t just a random post to promote E3 in general. Could this be a sign that Mass Effect is finally coming to a Nintendo console?
We’ll be posting tons of Wii U (and 3DS) video content throughout the rest of the week, but if you’re looking for the first live demos of titles, you may want to consider watching GameTrailers’ “All Access” stream.
Immediately following Nintendo’s E3 2012 media briefing today, Reggie Fils-Aime will be on hand for an interview with Geoff Keighley. The site will additionally be showing demos of Wii U games.
All of this will take place between 1:00 and 2:00 PM. GameTrailers is teasing this hour as something “you do not want to miss”.
“After the Wii U is fully revealed, ALL ACCESS is back live for instant reaction from our experts. Plus, we’re joined by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, and Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime is live with us for another classic interview with Geoff. Plus, stay tuned for the real live demos of new Wii U games on our stage! We cant’ tell you more, but believe us you do not want to miss this hour.”
Thanks to Jake for the tip.
Ubisoft’s ZombiU might have wowed audiences with an interesting trailer, but I’m sure plenty of people were confused about the game’s bizarre-sounding title. There’s more to this Wii U launch title’s name than a terrible pun, which should be apparent if we take a look at the first game Ubisoft ever published:
This is my obligatory “Here’s what’s going on at E3 just so you know” post.
So, just one day into the pre-E3 shows and we’ve already seen the effects of last year’s presentation by Nintendo. I don’t know if it’s just my imagination, but it seems like as time goes on, more and more people are waiting for Nintendo’s “OK” before they start trying out new things, as though they’re using the big N as a guinea pig for them to invest in new ideas. This year it was probably the most prevalent, save for perhaps the year we saw Move and Kinect revealed.
A good portion of Nintendo’s E3 2012 media briefing will focus on the Wii U. Yes, we know that. We also know that there is a software showcase event on Wednesday which will feature 3DS software.
However, although some folks were ruling out the 3DS completely for the conference, it does seem as though the handheld will be there, even if it’s just for a bit.
Nintendo has apparently hired a company to take b-roll footage of tomorrow’s games, including first and third-party titles for the Wii U and 3DS. It’d probably make sense to highlight New Super Mario Bros. 2, even if it is just for a minute.
In any case, look forward to some 3DS news. It might not be much, but there will be something! More 3DS goodness will come our way during the software showcase.
