Microids and Eden Games came out with Gear.Club Unlimited in 2017. Essentially one year later, the two sides have returned once again with a sequel. Unlike its predecessor, Gear.Club Unlimited 2 was made from the ground up for Nintendo’s console and as an exclusive – it has no mobile ties unlike last year’s release.

Shortly before Gear.Club Unlimited 2’s launch, we caught up with lead designer Yannick Berthier. Berthier spoke with us about why the team made its new racer exclusively for Switch and the benefits that allowed for. You can read our full interview below.

Nintendo is gearing up for even more maintenance over the next few days. Switch will be the only platform impacted thus far, with three different sessions planned starting tonight.

The current maintenance schedule is as follows:

Media Create reported this week that Persona Q2 sold 80,000 copies in its first week. The sales tracker has since provided additional tidbits about the game’s performance.

Compared to the first game, Persona Q2 didn’t do quite as well. The original managed to sell 187,000 units in its first week. Also, while that title sold through 80.64% of its initial shipment, Persona Q2 sold through 64.54%.

While that may seem a tad disappointing, Persona Q2 did have the best opening week of any 3DS game in Japan this year. It surpassed Etrian Odyssey Nexus’ number of 72,000 copies. Given that the momentum for 3DS hardware is on the downturn and interest has shifted to Switch, Persona Q2 had a decent result in the end.

Nintendo is continuing to support the 3DS with new themes. This week, two more Pokemon designs were added to the shop.

Pokemon: Team Aqua and Pokemon: Team Magma are out now in North America, Europe, and Japan. They’re priced at $1.99 each.
