Splatoon 2 apparently getting Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology collaboration

April Fools’ Day can be a tricky thing. Sometimes you aren’t quite sure what is and what isn’t true, but a new announcement made by Nintendo today is apparently being considered the real deal. We’ll let you know if we hear otherwise.
For Splatoon 2, a collaboration with the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) has been announced. As one part of this, a new Splatfest will be held on April 21. Players will be asked: “Which makes you feel the most wonder? Unknown/undiscovered creatures vs. advanced technology”.
Also a part of the collaboration, April’s Salmon Run gear in Splatoon 2 will be the Oceanic Hard Hat:

ちなみに今月のサーモンランでもらえるギアは「オーシャンズヘルム」。
JAMSTEC職員の方が研究の現場で着用されているものに、良く似たヘルメットだ。
