More support is happening for Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration, and today, brand new Namco Legendary Pack DLC was revealed.

The DLC tells the story of the early partnership between Atari and Namco. It will contain the best-selling Pac-Man for Atari 2600, along with a collection of titles from the Atari 2600, Atari 5200 and Atari 7800, including Galaga, Dig Dug, Xevious, and Galaxian.

Atari 50 The First Console War DLC

Atari and Digital Eclipse are shipping The First Console War DLC for Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration next week, the two companies announced today. It will be available on November 8, in concert with the physical release of Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration Expanded Edition.

The DLC brings along 19 additional playable games and eight video segments that tell the story of Atari’s first major rivalry in the console market. Players can look forward to a deep dive into the video game console market’s landscape of the era, which covers how and why Mattel made the decision to create games for its biggest competitor. Video interviews with M Network programmer Jane Terjung, video game historians Leonard Hermand and Mike Mika, and more are included.

The Wider World of Atari brings along 19 playable games and eight video segments. YouTuber MetalJesusRocks will share the full lineup of titles on September 25 at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET / 3 PM in the UK / 4 PM in Europe.

Today, Atari and Digital Eclipse announced Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration Expanded Edition, a significant expansion to the original release. It’s slated for October 25, 2024 on Switch.

Atari 50: The Anniversary Collection adds two new timelines and 39 games to the playable Atari retrospective. Those who own the original release can obtain the new content as DLC later this year.

Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration new games

Atari issued a new featurette trailer for Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration that teases six brand new games that were made for the package.

Aside from emulating the beloved original games included in the collection, Digital Eclipse also created six completely new games inspired by the classics of decades past. Swordquest: AirWorld is particularly noteworthy since it’s the missing, last installment in the four-game Swordquest series that fans can finally finish 40 years later.
