Conan Chop Chop is almost ready to launch following multiple delays, and we now have gameplay. The new footage is specifically from the demo that was put on the Switch eShop this week.

Conan Chop Chop release date

Publisher Funcom and developer Mighty Kingdom have finalized a release date for Conan Chop Chop. The game is coming to Switch on March 1, 2022. Additionally, a demo will go live on February 17.

Conan Chop Chop was revealed for Switch in June 2019, but since then, it’s been delayed many different times – it’s certainly up there as a game that’s seen many different release windows. After it was moved back once again last July, Funcom and Mighty Kingdom promised that “there will be no more delay announcements”. The two sides decided not to share any new launch windows until the project was completely done and ready to go.

Conan Chop Chop has had several different release dates and windows. The game was first planned for September 3, 2019. There were then several delays and changes: Q1 2020, February 25, 2020, Q2 2020, later in 2020, and then early 2021.

It may not come as a surprise that Conan Chop Chop has been pushed back again, especially since we’re now in the second half of 2021. The game had actually passed certification, but Funcom and Mighty Kingdom decided to implement “further improvements to gameplay.”

Here’s the full notice:

Conan Chop Chop

Conan Chop Chop has been delayed once again. The game will now launch in early 2021, “bigger and better than originally intended.”

Initially, Conan Chop Chop was targeted for September 2019. The rogue-lite party game’s release window then shifted a few times – Q1 2021, then Q2 2020, and most recently later in 2020.

Funcom chief creative officer Joel Bylos said of the latest delay:

Conan Chop Chop

Conan Chop Chop has been hit with another delay. The rogue-lite party game, last scheduled for Q2 2020, “has had its release date moved to allow for further development.” Although it’s still on track for 2020, we don’t have a new estimate beyond that.

Conan Chop Chop has been delayed a few times before. Prior to the Q2 2020 launch window, it was planned for February 25 prior to that.

Conan Chop Chop was originally planned for September 3. However, the game was pushed back to Q1 2020 with the team wanting to add online multiplayer.
