Warner Bros. Games and Avalanche Software shared today a behind the scenes video, “Making the Music,” for “Overture to the Unwritten” and other compositions featured in Hogwarts Legacy.

The team of composers and audio producers take fans behind the scenes into some of their decision-making process and the complexity of creating new orchestral pieces set in the 1800s wizarding world. Composer chuck e. myers “sea” talks about his experience working on Hogwarts Legacy over the last four years as a project while audio Producer Nathan Ayoubi delves into how the music enhances the overall experience for the player, being simultaneously new and fresh while also nostalgic. We also get to hear from composer Peter Murray about how the team balanced this new original composition with the music of the films. Lastly, composer J. Scott Rakozy describes the music as childlike awe and wonder.

Hogwarts Legacy gameplay showcase

Hogwarts Legacy will have a new gameplay showcase tomorrow, November 11, Warner Bros. and Avalanche Software have announced. The event will showcase “a small tour of Hogwarts Castle, a deep dive into the character creator system, a first look at the UI, and an introduction to combat.”

Hogwarts Legacy Quiddich

The official website for Hogwarts Legacy has updated its FAQ page, and one of the big takeaways is that Quidditch won’t be playable.

Although Quidditch isn’t in, the use of brooms is still a big part of the game. Broom flight for traversal and broom race challenges are included, and players can fly brooms to explore new and familiar locations surrounding Hogwarts Castle. There’s even a Flying class in which players can master their broomstick flying skills.

Several new videos have emerged for Hogwarts Legacy, including a “Back to Hogwarts” featurette plus House Common Room tours for Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin.

Hogwarts Legacy Sebastian Sallow

In celebration of Gamescom 2022, Hogwarts Legacy has received a new “Sebastian Sallow’s Dark Legacy” trailer. The video provides a glimpse at the forbidden curses and difficult dilemmas players will face as they learn more about the Sallow family’s mystery and decide whether to engage with, or even embrace, the dark arts.

Hogwarts Legacy delayed

Hogwarts Legacy has been delayed to 2023, according to Warner Bros. Games and Avalanche Software. It was originally planned for this holiday.

The initial release of Hogwarts Legacy will take place on February 10, 2023. However, we don’t have an exact date for the Switch version. The team says it will let fans know when the game will be appearing on Nintendo’s console “soon.”

According to the official website and retailer listings, Hogwarts Legacy is coming to Switch.

That information is relayed directly in an FAQ page. Regarding platforms, it states: “Hogwarts Legacy will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, Nintendo Switch and PC.” We’ll also mention that a Switch logo is included on the footer of the site across various pages. Amazon has also opened pre-orders for a physical version on Switch here.
