Japanese hardware sales hit five-year low earlier this month
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, General Nintendo, News, Wii U | 3 Comments
During the week of April 14, Japan experienced its lowest gaming hardware sales in five years. Information provided by Media Create states that the downturn can be attributed to sluggish sales of Nintendo and PlayStation consoles.
The 3DS, for instance, dropped to 19,943 for the week, which Media Create believes could be related to Nintendo’s “monthly recommended software campaign”. This began on April 26. Consumers may have been hesitant to hold off on making a 3DS purchase until the campaign kicked off.
Media Create also has some insight into the low sales of other platforms. According to the sales tracker, this may have been due to new releases being unable to sell more than a combined total of 50,000 copies during the week.

FuRyu updated the official Hamatora: Look at Smoking World website with new screenshots and details. View our gallery for new images, and our summary below for information (with translations from Siliconera).
– Set in the same world of Hamatora: The Animation
– Story focuses on its protagonist, Souken
– Don’t need to have watched the anime, since there are two separate stories
– Souken has just transferred to a school in Kobe
– Souken meets the “Troublebusters”
– Troublebusters: a group of people with special powers called “Minimum”
– After a certain event, it doesn’t take long for him to find out that he’s also a “Minimum Holder”
– The Troublebusters get all kinds of different requests
– For some reason, there seems to be something going on with requests concerning people who’ve lost their memories
– As you continue solving various cases in Kobe, the plot thickens, as the mystery behind the Minimum Holders slowly unravels
– When solving cases, you’ll start at the base
– At the base, there will be various missions or requests to choose from
– They all come with a reward and a brief description of what you’ll need to do
– You then need to go around town to gather some information on the request
– By talking to different characters in town and searching key areas, you’ll gradually put clues together
– Once you solve the case, you’ll encounter the culprit, followed by a battle
– After playing your cards right and beating them down using your Minimum, you’ll clear the mission and go back to the base to take on more requests
The story advances as you crack cases and slowly solve the mystery behind the Minimum Holders.
– Out on July 17
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate details
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 10 Comments
This week’s issue of Famitsu contains new information about Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. For a summary of what’s included in the magazine, read on below.
– Can send others flying on the back of monsters
– This gives a purpose to the move that’s used to send your buddies flying sky high
– When a monster sends you flying in the air, you won’t be able to take advantage of that and do the same thing
– The feature is being added due to the lack of ledges in some areas
– Capcom believes it will add a whole new way of cooperating with your fellow Hunters
– G-rank Guild Quests will be included
– Previous version only went up to seven stars in High Rank
– The G-rank will introduce tougher challenges and stronger monsters
– New sub-species for monsters like the Garara Ajara, Genel Serutas, Kechawacha, Tetsukabura, Zaboazagill,
– This will give them different characteristics and attacks from their normal counterparts
– The Old Desert area will also be making a return
– Will need Cold Drinks (and Hot Drinks during the night) to take on the likes of Cephadrome and Daimyo Hermitaur
– The trailer also teased a new monster at the end, which some feel that it may be related to Gore Magala
From Ryozo Tsujimoto:
“It has more of a slender body-type when compared with all the other monsters we’ve had up until now, and the distinct gap it has between its fingers will also be another focus. I’ll leave the rest up to your imagination for the time being.”
