Five years after it was originally announced for Switch, Bush Hockey League will finally release in Spring 2022.

We originally reported on V7 Entertainment’s plans for the title back in February 2017. At the time, it was known as Old Time Hockey. It took a significant amount of time for the Switch port to materialize, but it seems that things are finally starting to wrap up.

A few months ago, V7 Entertainment announced that Old Time Hockey would be released for Switch. Something happened along the way, as those plans have since been scrapped.

Here’s an interesting exchange with one fan on Twitter:

We don’t know what happened here unfortunately. Other than the tweet above, we don’t have much in the way of an explanation.

Old Time Hockey’s initial release took place at the end of last month. Unfortunately, the Switch version is quite a ways off.

On the latest Fragments of Silicon podcast, V7 Entertainment’s Mike Torillo indicated that Old Time Hockey will be coming to Switch this fall. The team has only done “super preliminary work” thus far, but updates will be posted on social media.

V7 currently intends to carry out an initial port. The studio will then follow up by looking into potential Switch-specific features. Nintendo has apparently shown interest in seeing what the team could do differently on their system.

You can listen to the full podcast and interview with Torillo after the break.

V7 Entertainment readied a new trailer for Old Time Hockey. The game isn’t out on Switch yet, but it’s expected sometime in the near future. Check out the video below.

Game Informer has recently put up some footage from Old Time Hockey, which will eventually be available on the Switch. To spice things up, former NHL pro Mark Parrish joins them for commentary. You can check it out below.
