PAX South 2015

IGN is reporting that PAX South managed to break attendance records this past weekend. The site states that PAX South beat out the first PAX East and the first PAX AUS, which had fewer attendees and exhibitors in their inaugural years.

Nintendo was out in full force at the first ever PAX South. The company brought along the New 3DS XL, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for public demos.

Nintendo will be appearing at the first PAX South event in San Antonio, Texas later this week, the company announced today.

Attendees will be able to go hands on with the New 3DS XL before it launches on February 13. Additionally, Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and Super Smash Bros. for 3DS will be playable.

Nintendo is celebrating the upcoming launch of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D with a “72-Hour Mask Challenge”. This asks fans to create their own personalized masks. More information will be published on Nintendo of America’s Twitter account.

Also tying in to promote Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, fans will be able to take photos with a real-life replica of the Majora’s Mask and receive paper versions to wear around the convention (while supplies last). Those who come dressed in costumes inspired by The Legend of Zelda will be able to bypass lines to get hands-on time with the 3DS game.

PAX South runs between January 23 and January 25. Head past the break for today’s complete announcement.
