The Legend of Bum-bo

The Legend of Bum-bo physical

Nicalis announced today that it’s working on a physical version of The Legend of Bum-bo for Switch. It will be available in Q3 2023.

Each copy includes a physical copy of the game with a reversible cover sheet insert and a helpful instruction manual. A “Borf Box” edition is also planned with an exclusive Travel Play Set of Bum-bo “stickies,” all contained in a corrugated cardboard outer sleeve that reflects the handmade look of the in-game graphics. The Play Set includes colorful die-cut vinyl characters and items that cling to either side of the included reversible background card; they can be removed and repositioned to create endless variations of scenes from the game or from the player’s imagination.

We have more information about The Legend of Bum-bo in the following overview:

The Legend of Bum-Bo, which has long been teased for Switch, finally has a release date on the console.

The game was made by Edmund McMillen, the creators behind The Binding of Isaac. Although it initially came to PC in 2019, we’ve been waiting to see what would happen with Switch. A listing for the title has now appeared on the eShop, revealing that Nicalis will be handling publishing on Nintendo’s console.

We finally have an update on the turn-based puzzle RPG The Legend of Bum-bo. The game has received a new trailer, which is included below.

The Legend of Bum-bo is initially launching in November. It’s been previously mentioned that the game is on track for Switch, so a 2020 launch is likely on that platform.

Edmund McMillen of Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac fame has long been working on The Legend of Bum-bo. Today, a proper update was finally provided, including the first trailer.

The Legend of Bum-bo is a turn-based puzzle RPG starring Bum-bo from The Binding of Isaac. You’ll be performing offensive and defensive attacks in combat with a match-4 puzzle system, exploring randomly-generated dungeons, and more.

Ed Mcmillen has shared an update on The Legend of Bum-bo, a spinoff of sorts for The Binding of Isaac with puzzle-type RPG mechanics. Mcmillen posted on Twitter sometime within the first half of 2018. More news and a teaser trailer will follow soon.

Mcmillen previously indicated that The Legend of Bum-bo is a high candidate for Switch. Considering that The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ and The End Is Nigh are on the console, it seems like a safe bet at this point.

Edmund McMillen on his Twitter has stated that The Legend of Bum-bo has a high probability to come to Switch mid next year. Nice to hear there will be continued Switch support after both Super Meat Boy games arrive.

Last year, The Binding of Isaac creator Ed McMillen announced The Legend of Bum-bo. The randomly generated turn based puzzle strategy game won’t be ready for some time, but it seems like a Switch version could be in the cards.

McMillen indicated that a Switch version is likely to happen while interacting with a fan on Twitter:

While we wait for The Legend of Bum-bo, McMillen has another game on the way to Switch – The End is Nigh. That title is likely to release on Nintendo’s console sooner, though we don’t have a release date as of now.
