TGS 2022 date

TGS 2022 (Tokyo Game Show) already have a date and is confirmed to take place between September 15 and September 18, 2022, show organizers announced today. It is tentatively planned to be held at the Makuhari Messe per usual. Beyond that, further information has not been provided. That’s hardly surprising given how it’s a year out.

TGS 2021 just took place last week. It was held later than normal as we’re typically used to seeing it happen during the middle of September. While TGS 2020 was all digital due to the pandemic, this year’s event opened things up a bit with an online and digital mix.

Nintendo has been known to largely skip TGS. Its last major appearance at the show was when it unveiled the Wii Remote, which was way back in 2005.

Although Nintendo isn’t present at TGS, many other companies are on hand and represent the Big N’s platforms with their own games. This year for instance, we saw the first gameplay of Chocobo GP. Koei Tecmo also provided a first look at the new Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity DLC with debut footage of Robbie & Pura. Atelier Sophie 2 and Shikabanegurai no Boukenmeshi were announced for Switch as well. There was also news for Monster Hunter Rise, Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, and more.

After sharing the date for TGS 2022 today, expect to hear more about the show next year.
