Since launch, SEGA has shipped around 640,000 copies of Sonic Lost World. That’s combined sales of both versions – Wii U and 3DS.

In its latest financial report, SEGA said “sales were low due to the harsh market environment.”

SEGA just announced its next game in the Sonic franchise, Sonic Boom, for Wii U and 3DS. A release date for the title hasn’t been confirmed at this time.

It didn’t help that the advertising was poor as well. Gotta let people know the game is out there.

Man really loved the game, my first Sonic game in a long while. Don’t know is this bad. I mean with the install base. The game definitely deserves to sell a milli+.

The game have some flaws and it was done too quick with little dev investment, but still, it was inspired in a old Sonic project and it could have sold better if half of the internet wasn’t being butthurt and the fanboy media wasn’t writing bad reviews of it everywhere because of the Wii U/3DS exclusivity.

Sega also did a poor job advertising it.

If you include the install base, this sold several times better than Generations…

EDIT: Oh, wait, it includes 3DS version… not that good, then.
