Warning: This article contains intense, intense spoilers regarding the game Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon. If you intend to play the game, or simply have not played it yet, I highly recommend skipping the article altogether.

Preface: I’m not sure my feelings about Fragile Dreams really translated all that well in my review of the game for one reason or another, and I feel the need to really get this all out on paper. I realize it’s a very long read, but I hope some of you enjoy it and agree/disagree with me. If you do, be sure to let me know in the comments section!

Update: Game night is over!

Hey guys, it’s yet another week gone by, so it’s time for another game night! Grab your copies of Mario Kart Wii and hit up the IRC (no sign up required!) to join us for as long or as short as you want to! No need to have sent in your FC beforehand – just jump in and we’ll get everything good so you can join us!

Stemming from the same article as the post below, it appears that Continental Games (developers of My Fireplace, WiiWare) have two more WiiWare projects in the works, including one that will supposedly use the Vitality Sensor. One of the titles we know nothing about, other than what we can speculate from the words of developer Juan Diego Álvarez, who says “Our next project is one that you’re going to like.” As for the other title, it is a game that is very focused in the field of emotional intelligence. Trying to translate emotions in the title is your main objective, and having to react accordingly is part of the challenge.

No word on when these two other titles may drop, but we’ll keep you updated!

Again, thanks to Fabio for the news tip!

My Fireplace – Details

Let me apologize beforehand for any misinterpretations, as my Spanish is a little rusty:

– Developed by Continental Games
– Intended to be a very simple simulation title
– Similar to My Aquarium
– Provides relaxation and ease of use
– Superior graphics to any WiiWare title
– Most realistic fire on Wii
– Help fund their future gaming projects
– Game has stopped due to WiiWare limitations before
– Trying to reduce price as much as possible
– Graphical engine is a basis for upcoming, more interactive projects

Thanks to Fabio for the news tip!

Ubisoft’s “Just Dance” has been outrageously successful for them, and it’s set to pass the 3 million sold mark very soon. To celebrate, Ubisoft is holding a cross-country talent search for the best dancer in France, the UK, and the United States, each of which will be flown to Ubisoft Paris to have their dance moves recorded and featured in Just Dance 2. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal! Do we have any dancers out there!?

We posted about Nintendo’s 2009 earnings report a little bit earlier, but one piece of information that is of significance is the number relating to lifetime DS sales. With this past year of sales, the total sales of the Nintendo DS (128.9 million) broke Nintendo’s record for most units sold, previously held by the Gameboy, at 118.69 million. Congratulations to Nintendo for hitting another milestone in sales!

My Fireplace

An ESRB rating has recently popped up for a new Wii game (probably WiiWare) called “My Fireplace”. I can only assume that the developer behind the game, Korner Entertainment S.L., has seen the lack fireplace simulators on Wii and decided it was time to fill that gap. Unless of course you run the homebrew channel on your Wii and have the “FireWii” application, which displays an interesting looking “fire” over a black background. You know, for those nights when your local TV station isn’t running the all-night fireplace.

Hey guys, just squeezing in an update about this week’s game night! Just so you all know, it’ll be this Friday at the usual time of 7PM, and we will be playing Mario Kart once again! As always, just show up at 7 in the IRC and we’ll get you in a game!

Well here’s a pretty interesting piece of news for everyone who thinks the Wii’s sales are losing momentum:

“What we’re seeing is that as long you provide the consumer great products at great value they’re going to buy,” he said. “In the last four months consumers have bought over five million Wii consoles – that amount is equal to the entire amount that our competitors have sold over the previous 12 months.” – Reggie Fils-Aime

5 million consoles in four months… that’s quite a few Wiis that have been sold!
