Hey, guys! Another long day of news, am I right? Well, I’ve been hard a work on this article for you to read over, and it covers just about everything you’d need to know about Nintendo’s E3 if you missed it! Feel free to skip around to the games you’re interested in to see my thoughts on them, and be sure to toss a comment or two in at the end so I know what you all think of what I think!

Surprise mid-day Thursday article! Threw you for a loop, didn’t I?

If you’re like me and you’re going to be heading up to a cabin this summer, chances are you’ll be bringing along some sort of portable gaming device. Now, I know a lot of you might be a little more into the natural beauty of a cabin on the lake (and don’t get me wrong, I am too!), but sometimes I feel like there’s no better way to relax than getting a good game, sitting out on a lake, and playing a little bit of Picross or Chrono Trigger. So, in honor of the fact that I will be gone all weekend at my cabin, here’s a list of the 4 games I will be playing/would like to play while at a cabin out on a lake.

If you didn’t already guess, there will not be a game night this week due to my absence from a Wii both tonight and tomorrow night. Sorry for any inconvenience on the part of those looking to play with us this weekend, and another apology for updating this so late! Also, I won’t be in town next weekend either, so I’m not entirely sure what we’re going to do about that! Give me some time to get creative and maybe we can work something out!

Until then, see you all!

Most frustratingest game ever?

I really don’t understand Monster Hunter Tri at all. Everything that makes logical sense about the game says that it should not be good: The controls are archaic, 80% of it is grinding, the single player has a lackluster story, it’s unbearably frustrating, and it sucks up hours upon hours of your time to make any sort of significant progress in the game. Regardless, I have fallen so far in love with the game that I have spent all of my spare time playing it. I didn’t have a feature up yesterday. Any idea why? Yes, it was Monster Hunter’s fault. When I’m that addicted to a game, usually I can track the reasons why I love it. Zelda games, for instance, have fantastic gameplay, great atmosphere, and awesome level design. But Monster Hunter doesn’t have very much going for it, yet, for some reason I can tell it is going to be a game I clock well over 100 hours into. It really is the greatest bad game I have ever played.

Update: Game Night is now over!

Howdy, fine readers! I hope you all are here to make tonight another awesome game night, full of fun, laughs, yelling, and all of those wonderful emotions associated with online gaming. For tonight we don’t have a specific game to play, so hop in and make a suggestion and we’ll do our best to accommodate you! Remember, the IRC requires no sign-up, and it’s probably the coolest place on the internet during game nights! Hop on in, open a bag of chips, sit down on the couch, and get ready for another fun evening of gaming!

Hey guys, how’s everyone doing today? I hope quite well! I’d like to let everyone know that we’ll all be playing games at 6PM CST (4PM PST, 7PM EST) tonight, so make sure you boot up your Wiis and pop in some wifi games to play! We haven’t picked a specific game to play, but I’d expect that there will be rounds of Mario Kart, Monster Hunter, or The Conduit going often enough. If you have any wifi-enabled games you want to try and play with people, make sure you show up!

Hey guys! I definitely promised myself that I would get this announcement up on Saturday, but something came up and things got too hectic for me to do anything at all site related until today! But hey, I’m back and here it is, the new and improved game night! How is it improved you ask? Well, here’s how:

We no longer have one specific game we’re going to play.

It has come to my attention that occasionally all of us playing might get bored of the game we’re playing (I’m look at you, The Conduit!) and having the rule of just playing one game doesn’t give us much leeway to do what we want. Additionally, it bars certain people from entering the game nights who don’t own certain games! So, starting now, all you have to do is show up and see who else is online to play with! One of the staff members might not necesarily be in your game, so you’ll have to check in with one of us via IRC to see what we’re playing, but there’s a much better chance you’ll find people to play with this way! So show up this Friday and join us to play whatever it is we play!

Update: A short game night, but it’s now over!

Hey guys, it’s yet another week gone by, so it’s time for another game night! Grab your copies of Mario Kart Wii and hit up the IRC (no sign up required!) to join us for as long or as short as you want to! No need to have sent in your FC beforehand – just jump in and we’ll get everything good so you can join us! The only thing is something has come up in my personal schedule, so I’ll only be around for a short while. I’m sure the games could last after I leave, though!

Just want to throw it out here that there will be a game night this week, but it will be at 6PM CST rather than the usual 7PM! We’re going to play Mario kart yet again, so grab your gaming hats and mark your calenders: It should be a blast!

Sorry to those that were looking forward to perhaps joining us for this week’s game night, but we will have to skip game night this week! I’m unfortunately not going to be home either Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night, and so we’ll have to miss out for the first time yet! Of course, you’re all free to play games regardless of whether I’m there or not, but there will be no officially “sanctioned” game night. Many apologies to those who wanted to play! Be sure to mark your calenders for the following weekend, though!
