“”If the only real difference were the change from SD to HD, that would be rather boring. But we both know, Nintendo wouldn’t be Nintendo if they didn’t add something extra, and we’re already looking forward to finding out what [it is]” – Square Enix, Akitoshi Kawazu

I don’t think Wii HD would be boring, and in fact, I hope to see support for it in the next Nintendo console. However, I definitely agree with Kawazu that HD functionality alone would be boring. I’m sure Nintendo is considering some new hook for their next console, though.

Call of Duty: World at War didn’t get off to the fastest start in terms of financial success. However, the title has sold relatively well since the NPD shared first months sales of the title last year. A few weeks ago, the latest Call of Duty game hit the Wii – Modern Warfare: Reflex Edition. How has it fared compared to World at War? Well, apparently, the game sold under 90,000 copies in its first month.

There are a few things to consider about this information, though. First, the data accounts for a little less than three weeks of sales, since the November 2009 NPD report didn’t include data following the 28th. Additionally, Reflex Edition performed better than The Conduit in its opening month (meaning Reflex sold more than 72,000 units). Considering Activision essentially ignored the game’s existence until it was released, I suppose this isn’t a terrible start for the Modern Warfare port.
