Capcom has teased gamers and has provided hints that Monster Hunter 3 would be brought outside of Japan, but has never said anything concrete…Until now. The company confirmed in their recent financial results that the game will be localized for overseas territories. Monster Hunter 3 is expected to release in FY 2009, which means that the game could be scheduled anytime between April 2009 to April 2010.

In other Capcom news, there are plans to “introduce versions of major game series for the extremely popular Wii” and that nine titles will launch within this fiscal year. Thus far, we know about Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, Spyborgs, Monster Hunter 3, Resident Evil Archives, Resident Evil Zero Archives, and Monster Hunter G…So that leaves some room for speculation as to what other secrets Capcom has in store.

When Grand Theft Auto originally released for the PlayStation, the title completely redefined what sandbox gaming meant for the industry. Then with each sequel came another innovation that raised the bar for the genre. The most recent entry in the series, “Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars”, differentiates itself from more recent Grand Theft Auto games, and in doing so, takes many key steps forward for not only handheld versions of the game, but also for the series and genre as a whole.

Some would argue that comparing Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars to console iterations in the series is unwarranted due to natural limitations of the DS. However, the truth is that in many ways, Chinatown Wars surpasses even the likes of Grand Theft Auto IV in terms of content, playability and gameplay, something that nobody would have expected from such an underestimated system. The biggest and perhaps most impressive feature that the game boasts is the engine.

Nintendo has already iterated a few times over that The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks will release this year. But according to games industry experts, the market’s view on Nintendo could be influenced by a new Zelda title for Wii. Analysts believe that the system is in dire need of “dazzling” new titles. KBC Securities Hiroshi Kamide says that there is a great focus on Zelda for Wii due to Nintendo’s upcoming titles, which are a bit on the weak side. If there was a chance that Zelda Wii could release by Christmas, Nintendo’s console could regain momentum in the market.
