Nintendo of Europe has put out a new press release detailing the Friday releases for the 3DS this week. These include the New 3DS, Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. You’ll find the PR in full below.

Avalanche of new releases include New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL systems, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, Monster Hunter™ 4 Ultimate, plus more!

9th February 2015 – While Friday 13th is considered by many to be a day shrouded in superstition and misfortune, Nintendo is aiming to overturn this notion and bring good fortune to European handheld gaming fans this coming Friday, #Nintendo3DSDay, with a slew of new hardware and software releases.

At a time when the Nintendo 3DS family of systems has now sold over 50 million hardware units globally, the latest additions to the family, New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL, make their European debut on Friday 13th alongside two major software releases – The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D and Capcom®‘s Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Both titles are playable on all Nintendo 3DS systems, but feature added functionality when experienced on New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL, such as super-stable 3D and enhanced camera controls using the C Stick. Two limited edition hardware bundles, New Nintendo 3DS XL Majora’s Mask 3D Edition* and New Nintendo 3DS XL Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Edition** will also launch on Friday to celebrate these highly-anticipated titles.
Meanwhile, exclusively on Nintendo eShop, IronFall: Invasion, an intense single-player and six-person local & online multiplayer action-shooter from three talented developers launches alongside familiar faces in Kirby Fighters Deluxe and Dedede’s Drum Dash Deluxe. In addition, a free video-on-demand streaming service named Nintendo Anime Channel becomes available for download from Nintendo eShop, with anime series from the likes of Kirby, Pokémon, and Inazuma Eleven.
Laurent Fischer, Managing Director, European Marketing & PR at Nintendo of Europe, commented: “We are delighted to be releasing such an extensive Nintendo 3DS hardware and software line-up, and hope this offering demonstrates our commitment to providing the best and most varied gameplay experiences possible for handheld gaming fans.”

Nintendo’s releases for #Nintendo3DSDay, Friday 13th February, in full:

In a new report, Unseen64 claims that Nintendo Software Technology created a pitch in 1998 to obtain exclusive access to the Harry Potter franchise. Had Nintendo been successful, it would have “secured the rights to produce all adaptations of the book series for the indefinite future in video game form; potentially preventing the eventual movie adaptations from being created altogether”.

Unseen64 says – via a former artist at NST – that two groups planned separate pitches. One group would focus on a third-person adventure title, while the other (including Marvel comic book artist Adi Granov) would concentrate its efforts on a game based on Quidditch.

Atelier Rorona Plus: The Alchemist of Arland will have a crossover with Neru Neru Nerune, a Japanese candy created by mixing two powder packets, water, and candy crystals. Nerune Grape and Nerune Soda can be made in the 3DS game if players collect Powder Packet 1, Powder Packet 2, and either Glittering Candy or Colorful Ramune. Neru Neru Nerune is featured as an item in Atelier Rorona Plus.

Square Enix revealed Bravely Second’s full title today: “Bravely Second: End Layer”. Additionally, we get a look at four downloadable costumes. Those who upload their Bravely Second data to the Square Enix Members site before May 31 at 11:59 PM can receive costumes for Magnolia, Yu, Edea, and Tiz at no extra cost.
