Amazon or GameStop.

Mario Party: Island Tour launches on November 22.

CYBER is releasing a new 3DS accessory in Japan in just a few days. The peripheral is a game card cover – designed to prevent the card from accidentally jumping out of the slot while in use. It fits snugly into the slot in the 3DS/3DS XL and protects important data.

The cover comes in black and silver colors. Also worth mentioning, it’s made up of stainless steel material.

Consumers in Japan can purchase the game card cover starting on September 3.

With The Wonderful 101’s development complete, director Hideki Kamiya will soon move on to a new project. Perhaps it’ll be a Bayonetta game for 3DS.

Speaking with Siliconera, Kamiya expressed interest in creating a title based on Jeanne:

“Given the chance, I’d like to make a game based on Jeanne from Bayonetta. Something that’s not as big in scale. Something that’s portable, that you could play in quick sessions, where she’s a history teacher and the kind of fun things that could come out of a scenario like that.”

Another 3DS game Kamiya would be open to? An Okami spin-off for 3DS.

“If I could get away with it, I’d also like to come up with a spin-off of Okami, less focused on the grand idea of saving the world, but [rather] something focused on the smaller world of the fairy Issun.”

Nintendo announced the 2DS a few days ago, but only for western territories such as North America and Europe. Did you notice that Japan was conspicuously absent from the recent news?

As it turns out, it sounds like Nintendo doesn’t intend to sell the 2DS in the country for the time being. J-CAST, after speaking with the company, reported the following (our translation is below):

Also in Japan, “What is Nintendo doing?” is what some critics are saying, still there are Nintendo fans who want [a 2DS] just because it’s a new model. So will this even launch in Japan? When we talked with Nintendo’s public relations: this new project is being executed in America and Europe where the populations are so large, so it’s only being executed in limited countries for now. There are no plans to sell the 2DS in Japan at this time.

This is somewhat of a unique situation for Japan. Other than the Wii Mini, I can’t think of any new hardware Nintendo has introduced over the past few years that hasn’t arrived in the territory.

Nintendo is working on a patch for Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. It’s coming soon to the Japanese 3DS eShop, though I’m sure any issues with the overseas release will be looked into as well.

Here’s what Nintendo will be fixing with the patch:

IGN has posted another round of quotes from Reggie Fils-Aime. This time around, the Nintendo of America comments all about online gaming and digital downloads. You can find his full comments below.
