Producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto has confirmed that Rune Factory 4 is the best-selling game in the franchise. The fourth entry made its debut in July, selling 85,955 units in its first week.

The full listing of first week sales for the Rune Factory games is as follows:

(2006) Rune Factory – 42,210
(2008) Rune Factory 2 – 52,049
(2009) Rune Factory 3 – 41,279
(2012) Rune Factory 4 – 85,955

Rune Factory 4 sold 135,376 units through August 19. It has already surpassed life-to-date sales of the next closest title, Rune Factory 2, which has sold roughly 117,600 copies.

Update: Make that this Thursday! Two Tribes said “next” in one tweet and “this” in another. Surely it’s the latter…

The Toki Tori ESRB listing was indeed a confirmation that the game would soon be hitting the North American eShop. Developer Two Tribes has gone ahead and said that it will be available on the store next Thursday. Pricing has not yet been officially set.
