The image above is said to have been shown by SEGA of America’s licensing team during the Las Vegas Licensing expo. It indicates that the Wii U and 3DS versions of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will offer unique features.
That makes sense given what the Wii U GamePad and 3DS have to offer. Now we just need to see how the development team plans on taking advantage of these pieces of hardware.

[Review] Art of Balance Touch! reminded me that 3DS games are still better than iOS games

I got an iPad a few weeks ago.
Since then I’ve nabbed a ton of games for it, from the terrible free ones like McDonald’s Happy Meal Builder (seriously, try it) to the top-notch like Plants vs. Zombies HD. The accessibility of games and the dangerously cheap cost of them had me all but convinced that this was the way casual gaming would be from here on out. I thought “Well, this is it. Gaming as a whole sure isn’t dead, but it may very well be slipping out of its casual hayday.”
Then, to my great luck, I got a review code for Art of Balance Touch! on the 3DS eShop. A simple game upon first glance, but given a few minutes with it and I realized something rather pleasant: Games are still better on dedicated gaming platforms than phones and tablets. They just are.
Project X Zone has over 200 characters

Monolith Soft is going all out in the characters department of Project X Zone. A new blog post on the game’s official site states that over 200 characters will be included. Although allies and enemies represent that number, additional characters will appear only during event scenes.
The same blog post mentions that there will be many enemies taken straight out of the franchises from Namco Bandai, SEGA, and Capcom. Players will encounter these characters as regular foes and bosses.
Finally, the blog made note of a few gameplay-specific details. We’ve posted them below.
– Ally “phase” happens when you can move your ally units
– During this phase, you can freely move the character around his highlighted area similar to RPGs
– Treasure boxes and obstacles will be in the area
– No penalty for making extraneous movements to open treasure boxes and destroy obstacles before attacking the enemy
– This allows you to do a lot in a single phase
– Character’s turn ends after the attack command is selected

Medabots 7’s website has updated, and its brought along some details on the game’s Augmented Reality functionality.
The first print run will include 32 AR cards. Metabee, Rokusho, Blazermate, and other bots are featured. By purchasing both versions of the game, consumers will gain access to all 64 cards.
It’s unknown at this time if AR cards will be offered through other means. Because of this, publisher Rocket Company is advising fans to pre-order at their local retailer.
Thanks to Jonathan A for the tip.
