Producer wanted to make Theatrhythm Final Fantasy for the DS

You might be interested to hear that the concept for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy came well before the creation of the 3DS.
Producer Ichiro Hazama revealed in a new Japanese Iwata Asks interview that he had hoped to make the game for the DS following the completion of Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. The system’s lack of power and storage limitations prevented Hazama from beginning development, however.
And that’s where the 3DS came in. Hazama knew that the handheld would be able bring his ideas to fruition. Once Hazama saw the 3DS, he quickly met up with Indies Zero, the studio behind the title, to finalize plans. Tetsuya Nomura approved of the project and the team was able to begin development on the same day.

Nintendo to hold AR card events for Kid Icarus: Uprising
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
One way you’ll be able to obtain Kid Icarus: Uprising AR cards in North America is by attending “special Nintendo events”. At these gatherings, fans will have a chance to “trade, share, and obtain new cards.”
The official Kid Icarus: Uprising website states:
“Check back on this site soon for info about special Nintendo events where you can trade, share, and obtain new cards.”
I appreciate what Nintendo is doing here, but I’m wondering how else they’ll distribute these cards. Not everyone will have a chance to make it out to these events.

Nintendo hasn’t said how they’ll be distributing the Kid Icarus: Uprising AR cards in North America/Europe. However, the company has started to reveal their plans over in Japan.
To promote the launch of the game, Takara Tomy is preparing “Kid Icarus Uprising Choco Snacks”. A single box will contain one of twenty AR cards.
The chocolate can be found in stores a few days ahead of Uprising’s launch. Kid Icarus Uprising Choco Snacks go on sale on March 12 for 100 yen.
