Christian Svensson, Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development, has updated the status of the company’s to-be-announced E3 title once again. Believe it or not, Mr. Svensson was originally under the impression that a different game was going to be announced. But in actuality, the game is something that fans do not know about. Capcom is hoping that the title will be a surprise. Check out Mr. Svensson’s response below:
“Update… and apologies. The thing I thought was the other game we were announcing is in fact, not being announced at E3 (the plan changed, it’s being announced later). So that las game is not something you know anything about and hopefully, it will be a complete surprise. So I was wrong. You may resume speculation/your frenzy of excitement.”
Capcom releases one more hint for their E3 title

Update: Make sure to read our latest post about Capcom’s game – Capcom’s Christian Svensson clears up some confusion.
Capcom has been teasing their fans for the past couple of days, releasing hints here and there regarding their secret E3 game. The company is at it once again today and has dropped off another hint.
“K, ‘nother hint: this franchise has never appeared on this hardware.”
That small blurb was released on Capcom’s official twitter page. Recently, people began to predict that the company’s title would be Monster Hunter 3. Technically, it’s still possible that the game is indeed Monster Hunter 3…But that depends on how you look at the statement above. I suppose we’ll have to wait until E3 to find out for sure.
SEGA to make an announcement on Friday

Yesterday, SEGA confirmed their lineup for this year’s E3. However, there were no real surprises or implied revelations on the list. Don’t freak out yet, though: SEGA is set to make an announcement in a few days. SEGA’s France PR Manager stated that, while the company won’t be showing off new titles during E3, there will be an announcement on Friday. This is because the company tends to focus on titles that have been discussed for some time at the show. The PR Manager also said that the game won’t be a “huge surprise” and that Shenmue III should not be expected.
More hints for Capcom’s secret E3 game
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 32 Comments
As the days until E3 officially begin wind down, Capcom continues to leave a few hints about their secret E3 game. Thus far, the company has left a number of teases for gamers to speculate about: It’s something fans have been waiting for, it’s from a classic Capcom IP, and it’s not a remake. Oh, and it’s not Devil May Cry 5 either. Capcom is again being asked questions about the game on their twitter account and handed out two more hints. First, it’s not a fighting game. Rather, it was answered that it is an action game. That rules out all of the Capcom’s fighting IPs such as Marvel vs. Capcom. The other hint that was released is that Capcom Japan is developing the title. So this title is an in-house developed game unlike titles like Spyborgs.

The last time GameStop mentioned Nintendo, the company said that they would be reserving shelf space in anticipation for upcoming Nintendo games. David W. Carlson – Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, spoke about Nintendo in the latest GameStop Corp., Q1 2009 Earnings Call conference. “…The new title base actually looks very very strong for the second half starting in the fall obviously with Madden, Rock Band Beatles, you’ve got Guitar Hero 5, the new Halo 3, and Batman as I said earlier, and then going into October with Tekken 6 and BioShock 2, and then going into November with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Assassin’s Creed 2, and we believe there’s a couple of Nintendo titles coming that have not been announced. So, it looks like actually a very very strong fall and holiday season. Then going into November with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Assassin’s Creed 2, and we believe there’s a couple of Nintendo titles coming that have not been announced.” – Gamestop executive David W. Parents’ gaming ban leads to boy’s suicide
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 17 Comments
It’s not uncommon to hear of a parent taking away their child’s video games when they feel he/she is addicted. Unfortunately, one boy committed suicide after his parents declared he could no longer play. A 12-year-old schoolboy in Bangkok, Thailand was quite upset following his parents words. In fact, police were able to discover that messages were to sent to his friends saying, “tomorrow is my last day.”
The boy reached school that day, but then simply put his backpack on his desk, arrived to the sixth floor and as you would probably expect, jumped and met his death. Thailand’s Ministry of Health failed to show any compassion for the parents and noted that the situation should have been handled differently. “For children addicted to gaming, the most effective approach is not to ban games but to regulate the time spent gaming.”

Besides confirming earlier today to CriousGamer that Capcom’s secret E3 game is not Devil May Cry 5 and it is something that fans have been waiting for, Capcom has provided a bit of further insight as to what exactly this mystery title is (via the company’s official twitter).
“Hot rumor bust of the day: Capcom E3 Mystery Title #2 is not — repeat, NOT — Devil May Cry 5. Now, what do you think it is? Ooo, yer asking for a big hint. So: established Capcom IP…It is NOT a remake.”
So, it’s based on a well-known Capcom IP and it isn’t a remake…Guesses anyone?!
Iwata: Shigeru Miyamoto isn’t God
Posted on 15 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 9 Comments
Satoru Iwata, President and CEO of Nintendo, has admitted that Shigeru Miyamoto “is not God.” Morever, Iwata explained that some software have “turned out to be lacking something in the end.”
“If you have included our inability to launch software in a timely fashion in the former half of this year as one of these mistakes, I have to express my disagreement to such a use of the term. Honestly speaking, whether entertainment software is good enough or not cannot be told until development nears completion. Even amongst the software created by Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo, some have turned out to be entertaining enough in line with the original development concept while some turned out to be lacking something in the end.
One of the reasons why Miyamoto is highly praised is because of his ability to stop, rethink about, and fix how he can convey the appeal of a software when he finds out during the latter phase of development that the software will not be good enough. This is why the games he has worked on have a high batting average to produce big hits. However, he is not God and even Miyamoto himself cannot hit the mark every time nor always predict how long it takes to complete development. I believe my management job is to set parameters of the development timeframe, and with this uncertainty in mind, to plan our product launch timings without too much time between each one, but it is not easy to get this down perfectly…”
