Video Games will be recognized equally at next Grammy Awards
Posted on 14 years ago by Austin(@NE_Austin) in General Nintendo, News | 0 comments

This is actually some pretty big news! According to the Recording Academy itself, video games will now be included in the following categories at the Grammy Awards:
The Music for Visual Media (Motion, Television, Video Game Music, or Other Visual Media)
Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media (Motion, Television, Video Game Music, or Other Visual Media)
Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media (Motion, Television, Video Game Music, or Other Visual Media)
Best Song Written for Visual Media (Motion, Television, Video Game Music, or Other Visual Media)
This comes after Christopher Tin won the first ever Grammy for a video game last year for this track, which is the theme song to Civilization V.

Nintendo signs distribution deal with Namco Bandai for Solatorobo: Red the Hunter in Europe
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, News | 0 comments
Just how awesome is Nintendo of Europe? Well, think about this. They’ve brought over Disaster: Day of Crisis from Japan. They’ve announced Xenoblade Chronicles for European territories. And now they’ve revealed that they’re going to handle localization for CyberConnect2’s stellar DS title, Solatorobo. I think it’s pretty clear at this point that Nintendo of Europe blows Nintendo of America out of the water…
11th April, 2011 – Nintendo and NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe S.A.S., a publisher and developer of interactive entertainment software, today confirmed they have entered into a distribution agreement for Solatorobo: Red the Hunter, a game for the Nintendo DS family of consoles which is due to launch across Europe later this year. Under the terms of the agreement Nintendo will be responsible for the sales, marketing and distribution of the game throughout European territories including Russia and Turkey, as well as South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

Posted on 14 years ago by Austin(@NE_Austin) in Site updates | 0 comments

Hey folks, Austin here with a quick update regarding our contest we’ve been running that allows you to win some awesome free crap:
Something went wrong with Facebook, and despite the fact that many of you are mentioning us in your profiles, I cannot see your lovely, kind words. As it is, I’ve no choice but to make the contest even easier to enter for you Facebookers. If you wanna win some really cool stuff (see original post for details), then just become a fan of us on our Facebook page and post something nice about us on our wall. Or mean about us, I honestly don’t care either way.
Just don’t make it stupid and say “I like turtles” or something. You all are much too creative for that.
A note to the people who entered via Twitter: You’re all fine. We can see your mentions!
Thanks!
~Austin

Capcom on lack of Ace Attorney Investigations 2 localization, Okamiden sales surpass first Investigations
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in DS, News | 0 comments
Capcom created a lot of buzz recently when they stated that there are no plans to localize Ace Attorney Investigations 2. Now Capcom’s Corporate Officer/Senior Vice-President Christian Svensson has taken a bit of time to explain the company’s reasoning. Svensson also shared an interesting nugget that Okamiden’s sales have already surpassed those of the original Investigations title.
“The costs of localization are higher than the forecasted return. And no, it wouldn’t sell more than Okamiden (which has already sold more than the first Investigations). Could this content show up on some other platform somewhere down the line? Possibly, but there’s nothing on that front for me to talk about. I realize there are fans who would like to have this and I’ll be sure to explore ways that could happen viably in the future with our strategy and R&D teams but no promises.”
