THQ has started a countdown for Metro: Last Light, which is teasing a live-action video of some sorts. The company likely wants to bring some hype to the game as E3 2012 approaches.

The countdown expires in nine days. You can keep track of it here.

EA’s popular soccer IP is coming to Wii U. Eurogamer states that FIFA 13 for Nintendo’s upcoming console is being made by a separate team, adding “how exactly it’ll differ from the mainline version remains a mystery.”

I assume we’ll hear more during E3 2012 next month.

Downloadable Titles Provide New Ways for Players to Learn About and Catch Pokémon Found in Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2

REDMOND, Wash., May 15, 2012 – Two new downloadable Pokémon titles are coming soon to the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS. Pokémon Dream Radar and Pokédex 3D Pro will both release in fall 2012, giving players new ways to catch and learn about their favorite Pokémon, while expanding the overall experience for those that choose to play the upcoming Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokemon White Version 2 games on the Nintendo 3DS.

“2012 is shaping up to be a great year for fans of Pokémon video games,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Not only can players look forward to a successor to one of the biggest Pokémon adventures ever, they can also enjoy two other titles that add to the Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 experience, helping to expand their enjoyment when playing on Nintendo 3DS.”

The first 3DS game patch is now available on the eShop.

System owners can download a Mario Kart 7 update from the store which corrects glitches in the game. The patch is labeled “Mario Kart 7 Update Ver. 1.1”.

Many players had been taking advantage of exploits to gain the upper hand online. In Maka Wuhu, for instance, nearly half the course could be skipped by executing a certain move.

All Mario Kart 7 users must download the update before they can access the title’s online multiplayer features. Without the patch, players will be prompted to visit the eShop for the upgrade.

The Official Nintendo Magazine dished out some details about the 3DS version of LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes in a new preview.

First, the bad news. Unlike the HD console versions, there won’t be any open-world exploration in the 3DS title. Developer Traveller’s Tales is keeping the rest of the experience in tact, however.

The 3DS version will also feature StreetPass support and an extra Justice League game mode. Information about these two aspects remain a secret for now, but we should receive some details prior to launch.

Famitsu has published its entire interview with Kingdom Hearts 3D co-director Tai Yasue from the April 26 issue. Yasue touched on the title’s gameplay systems, discussing how some elements were created, and more.

You can find a summary of the interview below.

– Drop System forces players to switch between Sora and Riku
– Tetsuya Nomura requested a system which forces the playable character to change
– Yasue joked that his reaction to the request was a feeling of fear
– Yasue was worried about a change in the tempo compared to past Kingdom Hearts games
– The drop count in the game is just for show, like how the game displays your play time
– Drop count doesn’t have any other effect on the game
– Discussions with Nomura led to the “free flow action” system
– Dev. team began working on the free flow system by using Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep data
– Planned for 2-3 days, developed for 1-2 weeks
– Resulted in the basic shape that we see in KH3D
– The team didn’t stray from the system once it was in place, but new elements were added
– Card-themed mini-game called “Flick Rush” was originally planned to use the 3DS’ camera
– Would have been able to take a photo of your friend and use that in the mini-game
– Nomura didn’t approve of the idea, so they went back to the drawing board and ended up with the final trump-based system
