Unfortunately, not much is known about this title other than the information provided by the ESRB (see below)…

Platform: Nintendo DSi

Rating: Everyone

Content descriptors: No Descriptors

Rating summary:

This is an activity game in which players can use a camera to take pictures of themselves. Players can then customize the pictures with a variety of stamps, photo effects, and text boxes.

I’d imagine that this will end up on DSiWare rather than in stores, but we’ll find out for sure soon enough.

Bundling software with DSi systems isn’t a new thing for Nintendo. In fact, the company ran a promotion on black Friday, in which five DSiWare Mario came pre-installed. In China, however, gamers will get a taste of a full retail title, Nintendogs. The only thing is that, for now, it isn’t clear if the full game or a sampling will be featured. The DSi, under the brand name iQue, will be launching in China on December 15.

Update #3 (12/9 – 3:00 PM EST) – According to our tech guy, things should be up and running for good. I’m a bit hesitant to say that, but we’ll be watching the situation on the site very closely. I sincerely apologize for the downtime the past few days.

Update #2 (12/9 – 12:30 PM EST) – Turns out everything isn’t okay, but you guys probably know that at this point. We’re still working on the issue and hopefully should be back soon. I’m going to try and see if I can add any additional posts in the meantime (see posts below).

Bumping this to the front page. We SHOULD be completely fine now. Turns out our host was having router issues.

You know how our most recent site maintenance was supposed to fix all future issues with the site? Well, our tech guy put it best: “The server froze to hell.” Because of this, we were down for a number of hours. I honestly don’t know how that happened and believe me when I say that I’m not happy that the site was down. We are back now, though, and I’ll have to pester our tech guy a little later on today to see if we can prevent this from occurring again.

“I don’t have the rights to any of the IPs that I’ve made. They belong to the companies that publish them, and they’re a business so they have a right to exploit those IPs as they want…. However, to be completely honest, I’d love to do them myself. Up until very recently I really felt someday I wanted to make a sequel to Okami, and there were others who wanted me to as well. But then the other day I heard the announcement that someone else would be making a sequel and now I’m just not interested in it anymore. Once someone else touches a world that you yourself created it stops being yours. There is no point in making a sequel when the world doesn’t belong to you. Viewtiful Joe is probably all I’ve got left. That story is incomplete so I’d like to finish it someday. But that would probably be the most difficult one to do [laughs].” – Platinum Games’ Hideki Kamiya

I feel a little sad for Kamiya when it comes to Okami. In the North American version of the Wii port, he wasn’t mentioned at all despite being the game’s original director. And now, as we’ve learned, Okamiden is in development without any involvement on his part. In terms of Viewtiful Joe, I don’t think it’s likely he’ll have the opportunity to create another Viewtiful Joe title, but I would love to see it happen.
