Aonuma would have liked MotionPlus available for Twilight Princess
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 5 Comments
Both Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma have stated countless times that the next Zelda game will incorporate Wii MotionPlus. Twilight Princess, however, simply utilized the capabilities of the Wii remote and nothing more. In an interview with GameSpot, Aonuma discussed the peripheral and said that he wishes MotionPlus was available a long time ago, perhaps so that the development team could have implemented the technology in Twilight Princess.
“All I can say right now is that, yes, we are well in the progress in development right now and as Mr. Miyamoto has already stated, we are going to use the Wii MotionPlus. It’s actually perfectly matched…I wish we could have gotten that a long time ago. Even when we look at Twilight Princess right now, we have to feel that we should have that kind of Wii MotionPlus. It was that natural feeling we have already established in development. So I hope that people are going to be looking forward to the launch.”
Super Mario Kart, Smash Bros., and Pilotwings coming to the VC before year’s end

There are still a number of classic Nintendo titles that have yet to be released on the Virtual Console. On Monday, however, the situation will begin to change. According to GameSpot, Super Mario Kart – the well-known SNES racer – will be included in the VC titles up for download. It’ll cost 800 points. Meanwhile, Super Smash Bros. and Pilotwings will also be hitting the service sometime this year (right around the holidays), although Nintendo did not share pricing details.
Denise Kaigler leaving Nintendo
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 10 Comments
“…It’s a fact of life that job and family often pull us in opposite directions. As regular readers of this feature know, this has proved particularly challenging for me, as I’ve spent the last two years commuting almost constantly between San Francisco, Seattle, New York and my home in New England. It has been a fantastic adventure, but the time has come where I need to choose one over the other … and I have to choose my family. So, as a result, this will be the final ‘Minute’ that I spend with you all, and my last day with Nintendo of America. During my time at Nintendo I have developed friendships with so many wonderful people, from my co-workers to people I have interacted with along the way, including reporters, bloggers and video game fans like all of you. Those memories simply can’t be replaced, and I will take them with me. What I leave behind is a great team that will continue to tell the story of Nintendo’s pipeline of wonderful products. There are hundreds of people I hope I will run across again – and trust that I will. So instead of considering this ‘game over,’ I look at my choice as really just finishing one level … and moving on to the next. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to answer your questions and talk so directly with Nintendo’s fans. For now, my ‘Minute’ is up.” – Denise Kaigler
Wow, I’m absolutely shocked by this news. It really came out of nowhere. And I admit, I’m a bit sad. I truly felt as though Denise Kaigler tried her best to relate to the interests of hardcore gamers.
