Today we’re announcing that Spyborgs will be dropping a week earlier than originally announced. The Wii-exclusive brawler will now ship on September 22 in North America for an MSRP of $39.99.
This is great news for anyone looking forward to the game, and with the reduced price this is certainly worth a look for anyone that hasn’t been paying attention to it!

Nintendo of Canada- There are no plans to replace Wii Sports with Wii Sports Resort

“The long-term plan is difficult to say, but I can tell you that there are no plans to make Wii Sports Resort what is packed in with the Wii purchase. What is in the Wii box will remain the same. Wii Sports Resort will not replace Wii Sports. The intention with Wii Sports was to provide an out of the box experience for consumers and we want new consumers and non-owners to experience that just as everybody else has.” – Nintendo of Canada’s Matt Ryan
I’m honestly quite skeptical of this. A WiiMotion Plus+Wii Sports Resort bundle just seems like the right way to go if Nintendo wants to get the device implemented. Of course, this wouldn’t replace Wii Sports in any way, the Wii would just come packaged with 2 games. This would also reinforce their earlier statement about not dropping the price of the Wii in the near future.
In addition, NoC also stated that Nintendo would be supporting MotionPlus fully with many titles implementing the device.
“…in the future, yes, definitely Nintendo will be putting out a lot more games that use Wii MotionPlus, especially when it’s a game that warrants that type of experience and that type of precision.”
Capcom and Nintendo working to strengthen their relationship

Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, Zack and Wiki, Resident Evil 4, Monster Hunter 3; All of these are great Wii titles released by Capcom, and it looks as if the Wii-love from the company won’t stop there. Not only has the next Devil Kings game been confirmed to be on Wii, but an article on Nihon Keizai Shimbun today revealed that Nintendo and Capcom are going to begin working closer together than every to bring anything from fantastic game launches (like the one we saw in Japan for Monster Hunter 3) to game demos and much more. No word on how Nintendo is going to be helping out with all of this, but you can be sure that with their tendency to do fantastic game launches and promotions for their own games, whatever they have cooking is something big.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it, especially with all of the rave reviews the game is getting. I’d be far more surprised if the game didn’t come than if it did.
EA says that EA Sports Active has an evenly split user base in terms of gender

I think that there’s no surprise that EA Sports Active was targeted at women. From the advertisements to the box art, every one featured a woman either playing the game or talking about it, but it doesn’t come as a surprise when you hear that userbase is split pretty evenly.
Iwata Asks – Flipnote Studio will deepen Nintendo’s relationship with the Internet

In a recent Iwata Asks interview, Nintendo’s President stated that Flipnote Studio will help bring to life Nintendo’s relationship with the internet.
“I think from now on the relationship between Nintendo’s game consoles and the Internet will deepen now that there’s a way for people to easily bring their ideas to life and present them to others – the same way that today they fire off emails right and left. Flipnote Studio can be a place where people share their creations with each other and offer each other applause.
I would love it if Flipnote Studio led the way for software making it possible for people to share their creativity in that way. Everyone, let’s give it our best! (laughs) Thank you for sharing your thoughts today.” -Nintendo President Satoru Iwata
A lead Nintendo developer also stated that Flipnote was originally going to be a WiiWare game before they knew anything about the DSi.
