Whenever one steps into the driver’s seat, there’s always the possibility of a car accident whether the event is caused by a passenger or a maniac on the road. Although, who would ever believe that Grand Theft Auto would actually save a family that was involved in car trouble?

The Norris family was en-route to meet up with relatives when Robert Norris Jr., the father of the family, was feeling a bit lightheaded and swerved off the road. After a few flips and tumbles, the car eventually ended up right by a ditch. Fortunately, it was one of the Norris daughters, Audrey Plique, who saved the family.

Plique knew that if she didn’t get the rest of her family out of the car, her loved ones might end up seriously injured – at the least. She helped everyone exit the car and lead them to safe ground.

Karen Norris, Audrey’s mother, commented on the situation. “She just knew, from playing ‘Grand Theft Auto.’ She saw on there that when a car rolls over, it can blow up. She knew that could happen to us.”

ANKH: CURSE OF THE SCARAB KING (DS) DISTINGUISHED BY WITTY HUMOUR AND UNIQUE CHARACTERISATION

XIDER Games will soon release Ankh: Curse of the Scarab King on Nintendo DS. Players will meet vibrant and entertaining characters, including evil assassins, royal guards and strict bouncers on their quest to save Assil. Each character is important and could hold vital information or tools that will thwart the Mummy’s fatal curse.

Individual characters have been designed to add humour to the game by portraying modern ways of life in an ancient time. This is seen in Bakshish, the souvenir salesman who operates by the ancient Sphinx; Tarok and Blackeye, mercenary assassins with a surprising amount of knowledge about videogame developers, and Bulbul the bouncer from the fashionable club, Camella Loca.

I’m not sure I’ve heard anyone say that we’re pleased with its sales [Zack and Wiki] and alas, I can’t really comment on the prospects of a sequel. I think there was a lot learned from the title though. – Christian Svensson, Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development

Wondering if the Virtual Console will ever house classic Capcom titles such as DuckTales? Sadly, the chances are pretty slim. Capcom’s Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development Christian Svensson has given the news that licensing issues are preventing the releases of Capcom-developed games such as DuckTales, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck. “Licensing issues abound. I think you’d be hard pressed to see them show up, but you never know.”
