Rumor: Watch Dogs coming to all home console this holiday

Kotaku has obtained marketing materials for Ubisoft’s new IP, Watch Dogs, which indicates that the game will be released on “all home consoles” this holiday. The thing is, the wording is nebulous. What exactly does “all home consoles” mean?
Watch Dogs has only been confirmed for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC thus far. Could the Wii U be in the mix?
Kotaku also writes today that Watch Dogs started out as a Driver game. We’ve heard rumblings about this before, so it wouldn’t be too surprising.

Companies Confirm Plan to Release Angry Birds Trilogy on Wii U™ This Year
Minneapolis, MN – February 15, 2013 – Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI), and Rovio Entertainment today announced that Angry Birds™ Trilogy has soared past one million units sold worldwide. Released in September 2012 on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft with Kinect™ for Xbox 360 compatibility, the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system with full PlayStation®Move support, and the Nintendo 3DS™ hand-held system, Angry Birds Trilogy won fans over by combining Rovio’s three legendary mobile titles, Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and Angry Birds Rio, along with new content, levels and features. Building on this success, Activision and Rovio will release Angry Birds Trilogy for Nintendo’s Wii™ and Wii U™ systems in 2013.
“Angry Birds’ proven formula for fun and addicting gameplay translated perfectly to the big screen, and the consumer response has been overwhelming,” said Jennifer Mirabelli, VP of Sales and Marketing for Activision Publishing, Inc.
“It was certainly satisfying to see Angry Birds gameplay adapt so well to other platforms in 2012,” said Petri Järvilehto, EVP of Games for Rovio. “The features specific to the Wii U are very intriguing to us, so we’re excited to release this version to fans.”
Completely recreated in striking HD with refined controls, gamers can play Angry Birds Trilogy with all-new animations and interactive backgrounds through 700+ levels with more than 150 hours of addictive gameplay. Angry Birds Trilogy: Anger Management, the recently released DLC pack, features even more content with 130 fan-favorite puzzles like Wreck the Halls and Birdday Party.
More Need for Speed: Most Wanted footage, Criterion praises Wii U and hardware

Need for Speed: Most Wanted is coming out a few months later on Wii U, but it sounds like it’ll be worth the wait. Criterion Games is putting in a lot of effort into the game. Most Wanted will feature the best visuals across all of the console releases, and Criterion even added in a few exclusive modes.
This is kind of an anomaly. Thus far, very few third-parties have brought their ‘A game’ to Wii U development.
But Criterion seems to be a believer in what Nintendo is doing with Wii U and feels that its technology is underrated. Below you’ll find comments from various staffers on the team speaking positively about the console.
Resident Evil: Revelations HD has randomized enemy and item placement

Resident Evil: Revelations’ console version has a few new elements. Among them are randomized enemy and item locations. Capcom’s Mike Lunn has confirmed the feature to GameSpot, which has been added in in hopes of making Revelations “a little bit more scarier”.
According to Lunn:
“One of the things we’ve really done to make the game a little bit more scarier the more times you play through it is by randomising the position of enemies and items and all that good stuff. So whenever I walk around this corner next time there could be a guy there. You’ll never know.”
January 2013 NPD: Wii U apparently sells only 55,000 units
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Podcast Stories, Wii U | 0 comments
Gamasutra is reporting (or should we say tweeting?) that cumulative three-month Wii U sales have fallen 38% versus Wii’s first three months of availability in the US. If true – which it sounds like it is at this point – Nintendo’s new console sold just 55,000 units in the country last month. NPD tracked sales for five weeks this time around as opposed to the typical four, so Wii U moved only 11,000 units per week.
55,000 systems sold isn’t even close to the Wii’s January 2007 performance. Back then, the old console moved 436,000 pieces of hardware.
This news comes hot on the heels of a poor performance in the UK. January Wii U sales were at a measly 34,000 units, according to data collected by Chart-Track.
