IGN was yet another site that managed to sneak in a few questions about the series, and more specifically, A Link Between Worlds. Topics addressed in IGN’s talk include the game’s position in the timeline, Yuga, the triforce, why the bracelet was picked as the means of transitioning between Hyrule and Lorule, and more.

Aonuma says it was “a big challenge” to make collecting rupees matter in A Link Between Worlds, where the rental system idea came from
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Podcast Stories | 0 comments
In some of the more recent Zelda titles, there hasn’t been much of a point in buying rupees. That’s all changing with Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, which is almost completely dependent on the currency. Players will buy and/or rent items this time around rather than acquiring them for free in dungeons.
Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma explained to Shacknews how the new direction with rupees came about:
Aonuma: Zelda film would have to “change what a movie is”, would be more interactive

A Zelda movie may not be out of the question. At the very least, series producer Eiji Aonuma says he’s “talked about” the subject with creator Shigeru Miyamoto.
If we were to see a Zelda film, it wouldn’t be your typical viewing event. Aonuma told Kotaku that Nintendo would to “make it more interactive, like you’re able to take your 3DS into the theater and that leads you into participating in it somehow.”
Aonuma added, “We wouldn’t want to make it the same as any other movie. We want to somehow change what a movie is.”
“This is something that me and Mr. Miyamoto talked about. If we were to make a Zelda title, if we had interest in doing that, I think really what would be most important to us is to be able to play with the format of a movie, make it more interactive, like you’re able to take your 3DS into the theater and that leads you into participating in it somehow. We wouldn’t want to make it the same as any other movie. We want to somehow change what a movie is.”
Pokemon X and Pokemon Y Sell More Than 4 Million Units Worldwide in First Two Days

Pokemon X/Y sales have surpassed four million copies in just two days, Nintendo has announced. That’s a worldwide figure accounting for sales recorded this past Saturday and Sunday in the Americas, Europe, and Japan.
It’s a bit hard to compare X/Y’s sales to previous games since this is the first time a new release has launched worldwide. Still, Nintendo says: “when combining and comparing regional data for previous launches, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y would be the fastest-selling Nintendo 3DS games of all time and are tracking ahead of the last Pokémon RPG titles, Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2, by more than 70 percent.”
The Pokemon series has now sold over 245 million games worldwide. According to Nintendo, five sets of Pokemon titles have combined to surpass 10 million units sold to date worldwide, with three sets combining to surpass 15 million units.
The list is as follows:
Title | Platform | Total Global Sales
Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl | Nintendo DS | 17.63 Million
Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire | Game Boy Advance | 16.22 Million
Pokémon Black and Pokémon White | Nintendo DS | 15.42 Million
Pokémon HeartGold and Pokémon SoulSilver | Nintendo DS | 12.67 Million
Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen | Game Boy Advance | 12 Million
Head past the break for today’s official announcement.
