3DS

Renegade Kid previously stated that they intended to release Mutant Mudds later this year. Thanks to the game’s official Twitter account, we have a more concrete date. If all goes well, we should have a chance to download the title from the 3DS eShop in December. Only a few more months to go!

Firebrand Games, the developer behind Need for Speed: The Run on Nintendo platforms, has confirmed that the title will feature an autolog system as well as online play.

The company’s website states:

“Firebrand’s third product in the massive Need for Speed series also marks both the Glasgow Studio’s first entry into the franchise and the first Firebrand title developed for Nintendo 3DS. The game features a unique parallel storyline to the HD versions of The Run told in 3D motion comic form.

“Featuring a fusion of classic Need for Speed gameplay with an epic race across the USA, both the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii games feature over 200 miles of track and 40 supercars to drive. The 3DS game also includes Local and Online racing and the first handheld version of Need for Speed’s incredibly addictive Autolog system- battle your friends across 40 Challenges- who can complete The Run in the fastest time?”

Firebrand is also working on the Wii version of the latest Need for Speed game, but the site doesn’t provide any details. Hopefully it, too, will contain online gameplay.

The Japanese “dummy” boxart for Super Mario 3D Land provides a couple of details on some of the game’s features.

First off, we have information on SpotPass support. Players will be able to exchange items and other content.

Super Mario 3D Land will feature Assist Blocks as well. If you’re stuck, simply click the winged P blocks and special items will appear to get you through levels.

Nintendo Week (9/22)

Posted on 13 years ago by (@NE_Brian) in 3DS, DS, Videos | 0 comments

On this week’s episode: Star Fox 64 3D, BIT.TRIP SAGA, BIT.TRIP COMPLETE, Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2, Star Fox 64 3D Launch Party and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.

You remember Rodea the Sky Soldier, right? It was that very promising NiGHTS-like game that was set for a dual-release on Wii and 3DS.

Although we haven’t heard anything about the project since it was announced earlier this year, development has progressed well. In fact, Yuji Naka has said that the title is complete “for awhile now.”

“Rodea the Sky Soldier has been finished for awhile now. My part at Prope has been done. Now it’s up to Kadokawa Games to decide on the release strategy whether it will be come out for North America, Europe, and Japan.”

Naka was also asked about a possible Wii U version. At this time he explained why there are no plans for that:

“It’s finished as Wii title and as of now we have no plans to bring it to Wii U. Rodea was made specifically for the Wii so players could enjoy it by flicking the remote. If we tried to incorporate those controls into the large Wii U controller it wouldn’t be the same. I would really like for people to play and enjoy it on the Wii as I had originally intended.”
