Nintendo believes consumers have an appetite for Star Fox 64 3D

This information comes from Nintendo’s marketing assistant for DS Rebecca Archer…
“Lylat Wars has sold over 180,000 units in the UK. The game features in the Nintendo Power’s ‘Top 200 Nintendo Games Ever’ so I definitely think there is consumer appetite for an updated re-release, as the original title was so popular.”
Star Fox 64 sold fairly well back in the day, but times have changed since then. I have a rather bad feeling that the 3D remake won’t be nearly as successful. I do hope I’m proven wrong, though.
By the way, in case you’re wondering, Lylat Wars is Star Fox 64. That title was given to the game in Europe.

Depending on your location, you can pick up a 3DS at Wal-Mart for $169.99 right now. Not all stores are recognizing the new price, but most outlets are. Wal-Mart’s online shop is still maintaining the $249.99 price.
All retailers will officially drop the price of the 3DS on August 12.

3DS Ambassador program games are eligible for Club Nintendo coins

Another bonus 3DS Ambassadors can receive as being part of the program is extra Club Nintendo coins. Nintendo confirms in a Q&A that all twenty games can be linked to a member’s account. I imagine that post-play surveys will be available as well, so you could earn a ton of coins by just downloading the titles.
“Nintendo 3DS Ambassadors who link their Nintendo 3DS systems to their Club Nintendo account prior to downloading their games will be eligible to earn Coins for the 20 free games.”
Kingdom Hearts 3D hopefully out early next year, playable at TGS, console-like quality, HD test
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
Even though Square Enix hasn’t shown much of Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, you might be pleased to hear that development is going well. Tetsuya Nomura has intentions of releasing the game early next year, but wouldn’t commit to any sort of release date.
Kingdom Hearts 3D will be playable at this year’s Tokyo Game Show for the first time along with Theatrhythm Final Fantasy (also launching early in 2012). Square Enix will likely display trailers for these titles and other projects appearing at the show at their Open Megatheater. The videos will posted online for public viewing once TGS is finished.
In this week’s issue of Dengeki PlayStation, Nomura said that Kingdom Hearts 3D’s quality matches that of a console game. The development team have been working hard on the moves shown in the debut trailer, such as having the ability to run on walls. Nomura promises that Dream Drop Distance will feature the flashiest motion we’ve even seen in a Kingdom Hearts title.
Nomura also discussed the Kingdom Hearts franchise in general. He acknowledged that there is some concern about attracting new players to the series, so he hopes this can be worked on for Kingdom Hearts’ 10th anniversary. Although he wouldn’t elaborate, Nomura teased an “HD technical test”. Could Wii U be a part of those plans?
Thanks to Thomas N for the tip!

Tekken producer keeping quiet about Wii U/3DS projects
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii U | 0 comments
Namco Bandai has been rather quiet about Tekken 3D… and we know even less about Tekken for Wii U. With such little information distributed, one would hope that we’d receive news sooner rather than later.
But no dice. By the look of things, we won’t be hearing about either project anytime soon. When asked about the 3DS/Wii U games, Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada said, “The Nintendo projects are top secret and we can’t talk about it at the moment, sorry!”
Both titles are obviously early on in development. I expect that Namco Bandai will talk about Tekken 3D within the next few months or perhaps early next year, but Tekken Wii U is most likely farther away. We’ll just have to keep our patience!
