New Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance details – the “initiative” before Kingdom Hearts III
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
Famitsu has a full-on Square Enix blowout this week. We covered the Theatrhythm Final Fantasy details earlier tonight and Final Fantasy Versus XIII information is available on our sister site.
Another anticipated title coming from Square Enix is Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. The magazine has some new tidbits in this week’s issue. I’ve been able to translate the following information thus far:
– Sora hasn’t changed (this is unclear at the moment)
– This game will provide some answers
– Described as a mysterious game
– Explores the hidden data inside Sora
– Kingdom Hearts 3D is the “initiative” before Kingdom Hearts III
– Will feature a secret movie like past games in the series
– Traverse Town contains two mysterious characters, who Tetsuya Nomura wouldn’t reveal
– Travel up to rooftops
– 40-50% complete
– Side tidbit 1: Nomura once again said that Kingdom Hearts III completes the Xehanort Saga
– Side tidbit 1: Sora will continue to be the main character of Kingdom Hearts, even after III is complete
I’ll be updating this post with more details as they become available.

It’s only a matter of time before this game makes it out of Japan. There’s no way Nintendo will hold back on releasing it in North America/Europe.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy details – originally a DS game
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
Here’s a shocker: Theatrhythm Final Fantasy was originally a DS game. The team experienced issues fitting in content when working with Nintendo’s old portable, but resolved the problem once development switched to the 3DS.
That was one tidbit shared in Famitsu this week. Other details include:
– Over 50 songs
– Three songs each for FFI through FFXIII, corresponding to each game’s Field, Battle and Event stages
– Surround sound
– Out this Winter in Japan
Thanks to Thomas N for the tip!

Nintendo of America says Nintendo Video coming “later this summer”, Netflix “soon”
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
You know, you have to hand it to Nintendo of Europe. Not only are they localizing titles that gamers care about, but now they’re even beating America to the punch by launching the 3DS’ video service tomorrow.
As far as North America goes, there’s no word on when the application will go live. A representative would only say that it will be available “later this summer.” Another feature, Netflix, will also be released “soon”.
“Nintendo’s short-form video service that delivers special video content for Nintendo 3DS systems will launch in North America later this summer. In addition, Netflix members who have an unlimited plan starting at $7.99 a month and access to a broadband wireless Internet connection will soon be able to download a free Netflix application that allows them to watch movies and TV shows on their Nintendo 3DS systems at no extra charge. These services will add to the wealth of games and entertainment content currently available via the Nintendo eShop. For more information about Nintendo 3DS, visit http://www.nintendo.com/3ds.”
